Dustin Redus is a youn man (28 y/o) that was born and grew up in Carson City, NV. While going to school he met my son Marlon Moncada and made friends. Dustin comes from a none hunting/ shooting family but got involved in it because of Marlon.
We met down the road and bought a rifle from me... 300 RUM LSS.
3 Years ago killed a deer about 70 yards away, last year killed a deer at 533 yards... This year he gets an Elk Tag in Nevada!!! Great, time to introduce him to reloading for his Elk hunt; the 533 yards shot he had previously made on a deer was with ammo I had cooked for the rifle I sold him, so that worked well.
We load up the truck, trailer with 3 quads, food and away we go....
First shot went just over his back.
The elk had no idea what was going on. I went through the motions, relax , cheek weld, shoulder pressure, lock the bipod after leveling the gun, preload, careful with that trigger.. .
Second shot hits in the same place on the ground just over his back... The idiot spotter, me, instead of saying 4 clicks down I said 1 click down and shoot again... On the third shot he DRT after the spine was totally busted. Needed a second shot to end it!

Dustin's tough brother, he packed that head out... I think the Head was
heavier that him but he did not agree.

The rifle scope used was my always trusty 4.5x14 Weaver Grand Slam that was sold with the rifle. We rode the quads for about 75 miles and it gets pretty wild so your scope and mounts and rifle need to be put together top notch.
