Now in stock, New Berger 338 300 Grain Match Hybrid OTM

Hey Guys, if anyone is looking for some of these Generation 2 Bergers, I just got a few of the 250 count boxes in stock today. Check them out here >Long Range Shooting

Go Long or Go Home

is that the bullet that Berger claimed to have a B/C of .90 ot a high .80's? The long range folks are saying the B/C is actually about .71 (which is still very good)

I have not personally shot these yet but I think they were hoping for something closer to .850 but never heard anything like .9 Shawn Carlock has been putting them through the paces and I think the B.C. is right close to the advertised .818 check out his threads on them. He is getting great results.

I have shot both the Gen1 and Gen2 300 gr Hybrids quite a bit now. About 250 of the Gen 1's and about 200 of the Gen 2's. The advertised BC's of .419 G7 and .818 G1 are darn close. Very Darn close. I have shot them extensivly past 1000 yards all the way to 2318 sub sonic yards. Using these BC's and the "Shooter" program I have made cold bore hits at 1526 yds and a couple first round cold bore hits at a mile. Including a second round hit at 2003 yds with a 8 mph full value wind. All targets were 1 moa or just under. Cold bore hits at 1200 yards in good conditions are not uncommon at all, and are pretty much a givin.

I will add that a stepped bc may be necessary for shots past 1500 yds if your MV is below 2800 fps.

AWESOME bullets!!

I just got a call saying I have 15 of the 50 count boxes on their way to me. You can place a back order at Shoot-Long.com. I have half of those 15 already spoken for. Just click the link in my signature.
Thanks

Ive got 2 boxes on back order from midway since the end of May. They are back ordered untill the end of August I just placed an order with Berger's store for 2 more 50ct boxes. I went to review my order and it says there is a 5 box minimum. It did not say that anywhere but in your "acount info" in past orders.

Anyways I was going to try and order some from shoot-long and they say they are already out of stock. naybody ordering them when it says that?

The "in stock" comment is referring to the 250 count boxes. The 50 count boxes will be to me on the 8th. If you place an order with me I guarantee I will ship them to you monday the 8th. 75% of what I have coming has already been backordered by guys from LRH.

I got my story from the folks in the Marine sniper's school. They did an extensive test with that bullet and several others (guess everytime somebody comes out with a new promising bullet they will check them out). They saw an actual mid to low point seven B/C; which is still pretty good. Perhaps their specs and testing is a little different than what the reloading manuals say; I don't know. Myself, I'd be happy with a mid seven B/C!
