Dave Young in Sand Coulee, MT built these for me. The red star indicates a ~1.25 MOA rock at 1415 yards.

338 Lapua Mag
Defiance Action with 0.750" bolt lengthened barrel tennon
Defiance 40 MOA base
Lilja HV contour 10 twist barrel, 28"
Holland Brake
Manners T5A
Seekins DM
IOR 3-18x50

I've only got 85 rounds through it but it hit near the center of the rock with every round with about an 8mph crosswind. 300 gr SMK's at about 2775 fps with 92 gr of H-1000.

6mm AI
FN PBR action that has been trued up
FN detachable mag
FN (Near MFG) 20 MOA base
Manners T4
Rock Creek M24 contour, 8 twist, 25" finish
Shrewd muzzle brake
IOR 3-18x50

This thing is amazing. It shoots the 105 A-max at 3375 fps with 54 gr of RL25. It seemed to shoot a little better than the Lapua. Probably because there is way less recoil.

Dave is a heck of a smith and very patient. Most guys probably would have told me to take a hike after changing my mind as many times as I did on that Lapua.

Nice rifles!! Glad to see they are shooters too!! Congrats.

Dave has done several for me and I have another there right now. He is a great guy to work with and builds a great rifle.

I have a number of Dave's guns. A 257 WM that he rebarreled and restocked, a Sako that used to be a 222 mag until I buggered up the chamber, so he set the barrel back and chambered it for 223 AI, and a custom built 22-250 AI on a Rem 700 action that he trued up. His work is first rate, no problems with any of his guns, but that 22-250 AI is amazing!! It shoots 1/2" groups at 200 yds on a regular basis and is a prairie dog flippin' machine! And his bear dog is a real pussycat!!

Montana those are some nice looking rifles, looks like you wont be needing your EDGE back. :D

I've heard a lot of good things about Young's. I think I might choose him for my next build. Nice rifles.

Dave is the man. Better pics of the Lapua and also an ABS 338 RUM he did. The ABS barreled gun is the best shooting one of them all. It's 9 lbs, 15 oz as it sits in the pic. He did a neat Weatherby magazine mod in it that allows almost 3.9" COAL and feeds like butter.
