10 years ago I had a ultracompact tapemeasure. Like other small handy things that are too small it went missing:(

I've had a look around, but can't find the same item again..

I'd be happy og someone could point me in the right direction.

The one I had was of metal, smaller than a zippo, and probably measured 40" or so. That's enough for me, I won't be measuring the spread on Moose and Deer, only smaller deer, chamois and tahr.

Go to any fabric - sewing center store. They are pretty inexpensive and very flexible and they don't weigh anything.

Got one in my saddle bags, one in my pack, one in the camper, one in the pickup - well you get the idea.

Yeah, I use a sewing tape as well. It's weather proof, light, and measures up to 48". Mine does not have a housing so I wrap it around something. Usually a knife sheath or tripod leg and hold it in place with a few wraps of electrical tape.

They make them in retractable now and are about 2" dia and 1/2" thick. Had the wife pick up a couple three of them at Wally World sewing section.
