well my 7mm rem mag ate a millett today, dont know why, it worked great on my 25-06 out to 1100 yards, so to justify if my 7mm needed a turrett scope, i took the leupy off and threw on the millett, made it through 40 162 amaxs at 3100plus and about 5 120 noslers at 3500 and then i got hit in the face with a piece of wire, now the detent for 10 power is gone, i recheck zero and its all over the place, i have a full minute of windage that is dead, give it 1/2 more minute and then its three inches at 100 yard zero and now the elevation knob wobbles ***, i shoot at a rock about 2ft dia at 1205 yards hits 3ft right, but elevation seemed to be on, shoot again and hit in the same spot, give it 2 moa left and still hits the same spot, i thought it was unseen wind, give it another minute and now its three feet left, anyways i end back up at the original setting just hitting the bottom edge??? now back to check my 100 yd zero on a pop can and it shoots 3 inches left, now im irritated and give up, going to call millett on monday to see about getting it repaired/replaced, its 3 months old with about 150 25-06 rounds and about 50 from a 7 mag, now for another scope, but which one, thinking about the zeis conquest 6.5-20

Well, I've tried the bottom end Millets. I think the one on my 223 AR went TU, haven't been able to verrify that for sure. It's a scope, I believe you get what you pay for.

My best are Nikons, cristal clear optics, and I aint broke one yet!

The other guys on here will tell you NF, Viper's, and Leupold. I like Leupolds, but not for the money they want, I've never used the other two. My vote, Nikon.

which nikon for long range, the monarch x cost almost what a mark 4 does and a lower line nightforce, i think after i break alot of lower end scopes it cost more than buying one good one

For Nikon, I have the Monarch Ti 2.5-10x44. The other is the Buckmaster BDC ?-14 or 18x42, I forget the power and mm. awsome scopes.

The Viper I mentioned, is made by Vortex, and the guys on here buy them mostly from Cammera Land, out of NY. Just the last couple of days the threads are leaning toward the PST, I haven't looked at them, yet.

There is a current argument for the Sightron Slll, being comparable to the Leupold vx-3, or was it vx-lll.

I'm torn now. I like cheap great stuff, who doesn't. I know Nikon, they haven't let me down, at $300, I'll buy more.

The Vortex, high-end Millets, and I've been tempted on the Sightrons before. Maybe I'll get to try them all one day. They sound like great deals.

I looked up the Monarch X on optics planet the other day, on sale for less than $500. I don't know why they would be that cheap, if it's an older version, or been on the shelf stock rotation senario.

Before your thread hear I was looking at your TRS-1 millett, myself. So many choices. Then there are the Leupold horror stories, too. I honestly haven't shot much past 600yd.

i just looked at optics planet and found them for 1300.00 im going to recheck cause a few weeks back they were around 800

4-16x50 is 1300 at optics planet, that is alot of money for not much elevation, i think i will have to break down and buy a nightforce, after all it is tax season.

I appologize I may have mixed up the Monarch X and the TRS-1 on optics planet, as far as the sale price.

Yup just checked optics P, that's what I did. Sorry guys.

I would be willing to take it off your hands if you don't want it anymore:D. Let us know how it works for you. I recently bought an LRS-1, and can't wait to use it.
