Ok, i have a 338-378 improved (a 338-378 weatherby with the shoulder blown out to 37 degrees) that i want to buy a custom FL size die for.

I called redding and they were very helpful, but it would be around 5 months to get it. I also called CH and it would be 6-8 months.

so anyone know where you can get it done in a quicker time period? say 3-8 weeks?

thanks guys, jon

If you have the reamer print for the 338-378 imp, you could have Dave Kiff at PT&G make you a resize reamer for a bushing die (3-5 weeks) and order a Newlon blank bushing die, they use Redding, RCBS bushings (probably in stock) and you or your smith make your own. This is what I did with my own version of a 338 LM Imp.

thanks a lot. i've thought about this and talked to my smith, but i wanted to look around and see if i get it done a little easier.

did you get your die hardened when you were done?

I have not yet, has been working fine, but was going to send it with a couple of barrels to get Melonite Treated.
