is it possible to shorten the bolt throw of a remington 700 7mm rem mag. Ive noticed the shorter bolt throw of weatherby ,and browning offers their rifles with a 54 degree bolt throw. is their any way to adress this issue . Just a new comer trying to educate myself. thanks to all for your advise so far

no you cannot without do major work. A three lug action will be somewhere around 60 degrees. Where a two lug bolt will need about 90 degrees for release. I've always wondered what the bolt lift would be with a four lug RPA, and suspect it would be around 45 degrees.
