What is this meaning?

I was going through my SIERRA loading Manual and noticed the hunting load for
the 7WSM was H4350 EXT what does EXT meen?
I noticed on another load in the 7MAG 160gr for a hunting load H4831 SC at the end?
I have never payed any attention to this, its been bugging me for a long time.
I don't wish to sound like a dummy. I think it does sound like Iam one.

I think ext stands for "extruded" powder and the sc stands for short cut which means the grains are shorter and easier flow through the powder funnel.

A slight correction here; the EXT is for Extreme, Hodgdon's designation of their powders designed to deliver reduced temperature sensitivity. The entire line of IMR powders, and well over half of Hodgdon's, are single base extruded tubular, and need no seperate distinction to mark them as such. Correct on the SC, however. This was done to diferentiate the "short cut" kernals from the original powder which still remain(ed) on the market. Same stuff, essentially, but cut to a different (shorter) length to allow then to operate through a measure more easily. If you've ever tried running the older batches of 4831, 4350 or even far worse 3031 or 4198, they're a real pain.

Oops, sorry about that, as I just got into reloading in the last couple years!!! I'm using IMR 4350 for my 25-06 and 30-06 and my buddy is using the H4831 SC for his 270, so I definitely knew what that meant. Thanks for the clarification and you did it in a very polite manner, LOL!
