Any suggestions on unit 31, 32, or 73?

Hello all, I have been researching to do a antelope hunt with my father and a good friend. I have narrowed it down to these 3 units, we have 2 points each. It looks like there are hmas and public on 32, and hma on 31 and public on 73. I noticed you need 2 points for 73. We dont want to take any chances of not getting a tag cause this will be the only hunt we can do this year. I am just not sure if they are all just as good or what order to draw for them 1st, second, third choice.

Any info or reccomendations would be greatly appreciated!

31 doesn't even come close to 73 I've hunted both. 31 has had a Specialty Pistol Group that's hunted that for several's years now, It's not nearly as big as 73. We hunted in 09 on 73 and saw some really nice bucks I killed a 14" Lope that the Taxidermist said was 73". I want to try for unit 73 again myself but we'll see. I still have a little research to do before I put in for the draw. Ilike to see what Eastman has to say in the next issue of there magazine.

Hey Kevin, thanks for the info..Is there a lot of accesible blm land on 73? Would you reccomend doing 73 first draw and maybe 31 second? Any input is much appreciated.

I was in 73 the week after Kevin was. I saw a few nice bucks also. I have hunted 31 4 or 5 times now, there are a lot of lopes there but not the quality. In 73 there is a lot of blm land, or I believe Kevin got in contact with a landowner.

Lots of acessible land but I did pay a trespass fee to hunt on a landowner's property$100.00). The one thing I will do different is make sure I have a GPS unit with the landowner maps you can purchase here on LRH. I hunted the first year I went on 31 with Zuba and our Specialty Pistol gang and had a blast but he's right the quality is not the same as 73. So the 09 season 4 of us put in as a group and drew 73 for Lope's and drew Mulie down around Riverside and Encampment saw plenty of Mulie does and 1 Mulie buck there and eat a tag. But it took us a little time with boundries of BLM and private on 73, we ended up taking my buddies first Lope on BLM land and then stalked and ended up crossing onto a rancher's property and that's how I ened up paying a trespass fee.

Thanks, hey if you were in my shoes with 2 points each, would you reccomend hunting 73 or 32 or save the points and try for 31? I am at a loss on what to put in for. We arent specificaly after a trophy, it would be great but just a succesful hunt in a good area. Appreciate the help..

You will see plenty of antelope in both units. It's really up to you, I would personally put in for 73 with a backup of 31. 31 is usually a 100% draw...
