I got out yesterday for some coyote calling with my 20PPC
First set no show 2nd set I was set up in a pasture with swamp to the north and east wind light from the SE called for :20 he came in from the NE I shot him at 75 yards I maid a move and called a creek bottom with no luck I got in my truck to head to a location I have had luck in the past and it requires a long walk from the parking spot I got set up and started calling. I noticed some movement and raised my rifle the coyote busted me I barked to try and stop him on the third bark he stopped and looked back bang pause wappp I walked it off at 233 Yards. I maid it back to the truck and drove to another spot and has one more come in I took the shot at 124 yards here are some pics

WTG, ew! That's a pretty good load of fur especially for your country. Hope you get a bunch more before its over.

Good story. Looks like the 20PPC is working great. What do you feel is the effective range?

600 yards

Cold and light wind so went out before dark to try a new spot looks good but no show. Went to a spot I have shot some coyotes and called this one in kissed him and he stopped at 70 yards no exit but made a mess on the way in.

Congrats.:)

Interesting rifle, what kind of stock is that?

How big do your yotes get in your part of the country? 30-35 pounds is a big coyote here, but I hear they get quite a bit bigger back east?

That coyote was 38 pounds a female they get over 50 pounds

I am shooting the 40g Vmax
