Ok guys I have narrowed it down to two rifles. Disregard the price difference. I was set on the Sendero until I started looking at the LRH. I went in a few days ago to fondle the Sendero. It was just OK. If you have any experience with the LRH, I would greatly appreciate it. This is a hunting rifle that we still play on the range with. Out to 800. The weight of the Sendero is not a major factor for me. All the work and time goes in to that one shot. So I do greatly appreciate your input. Thanks MHO

Sorry, no direct experience with the LRH, but I do own a couple savages. I like my savages quite a lot.

Good Shooting,
Gary

I just spent a week on this!! but I was more set on the sendero or the new one with the triangle barrel . after a week of reading off of this site and others it came down to 2 the savage or the howa . looking at what they do OUT OF THE BOX no mods . and for what I can do to a savage at home without a smith and the accutriger the savage won . but I'm getting the step down from the LRH and putting on a 26" fluted barrel with a brake . but I need the twist I have to shoot lead free . price is not a ishu for me but all said and done 800.00 for a good long range hunter.. saves me a lot of coin for a great scope. good luck

Glad to see you went with the Savage TF. I am pretty sure with a bit of tinkering that you can do yourself, and that new barrel your savage will more than please.

Gary

thank you Gary.. this might help MHO- I'm going with the savage Model: 116 FCSS you can pick one up for about 500 then I'm installing a krieger barrel with a brake and now I'm to the price of the LRH but I have a better brake and a Detachable box magazine and a 1 & 8 twist for heavy barnes bullets and all under 9 lbs I'm getting hell from my friends that I'm going with another savage but more and more I'm hearing how great they are from shooters and smiths

Put it together and take your friends to the range when you are done - I'm betting you get the last chuckle - just try not to smirk too loud.
