Anyone own this gun and ever find a good combination for a hand load?

I have several loads.
150 TSX 65 gr. R-17 3200 fps
165 TSX 64 gr. R-17 3100 fps
150 Hornady IB 60 gr. varget 3150 fps

These are out of two Model 7 Remingtons with 22" barrels.. Both tsx loads took elk last year and all 3 have been used on whitetails.

They both shoot the 168 TSX very well with IMR4350. However, one of them has a brand new unfired Lilja barrel on it and the plan is to see what happens with the 168 VLD. I also have some 185 VLDs on hand so they may be an option.

180 ballistic tips shoot very well with Reloder 22.

Well, let me clarify something first. One rifle belongs to my brother. The other a good friend. I don't know what their comfort zone is in terms of distance, but once we see what the customized rifle likes, I'm sure my friend will take a poke beyond 400 yards because he killed 2 caribou at 396 and 399 yards with it when it was factory using those 168 TSX loads.

If I had a 300 SAUM, I'd probably play with a 175, 185 VLD, 180 Accubond, and 180 Scirocoo...maybe even a Hornady.

The rifle is capable of cleanly killing an elk at 1000 yards. I suppose if I had one set up the way I would need it to be to accomplish such a long shot, I'd do it.

My wife shoots a 300SAUM, when I first started loading for it I was using Varget powder and stayed with 150gr accubonds. This year we found that the Varget powder was not shooting to our liking so we switched to H414
I think between now and next hunting season I want to get the barrel floated and bedded, action trued and maybe either a timney or jewell trigger and switch over to a NF rail 20moa. Its an awesome shooting gun. Those accubonds are deadly on deer.

What im looking for is a recipe to make a 600 yard shot at a deer. I hunt high in the alpine and I find that I can only make a good 400 yard shot with factory ammo. Here in BC canada I can only buy the 180 corelok . I always have to let some muleys go because they always seem to be around that 5-600 range and getting closer is not an option. Letting a 190 class buck walk without taking a shot is getting really old for me. I ned some proven recipes.

I have one and it has killed every thing from elk to yots with a 165 accubond with rl22 66gr at 3000fps and I have shoot deer and antelope out to 900yrds and yots passed 1000yrds it looses a lot of stem after 900yrds but under that it will kill any big game

My wife also shoots a 300 saum, so far just off the shelf loads. The lop has been shortened to 12", the trigger set to 3# even and a brake added. I'm going to start loading for it and we'll see how it does so I'll be watching this thread. So far she has taken 1 black bear, 1 grizzly, a couple of moose and 1 caribou with it. The day she bought it she ran a box of 180s through it and was wishing she had more rounds with her.
