Pics are a little crummy, camera would not focus well in the dark.
I took this guy last night in the last few minutes of light, 9 or 10 point depending on how you count them. He was 40 yards from the blind in hot pursuit of a doe.

Load used was 120grains of Blackhorn under a Hornady 250 grain sst from a TC Encore 20" barrel, scope is a Burris 1.5-6x40.

Ive been hunting for four days knowing there was a decent 6 point running around, but all I saw were this years fawns & moms and a couple forks.
When this guy came along I assumed he would be the 6 point. He was moving through alot of brush and all I saw was his general rack size. I started aiming for where I wanted the bullet to exit through him and waited for a gap in the brush & trees to put it through. I was surprized later to find out he was a bit larger.

Very nice buck...Congratulations! What part of Michigan were you hunting in? I'm guessing in the southern lower since you were using a ML. I hunt in Da' UP. We didn't do so well this year. The winters of '08 & '09 have devastated the herd up there.

Berrien County, about as south west as you can get in the lower.

We have had "blue tongue" hit our herds hard down here. Its not uncommon to hear hunters talking about a dozen or more deer remains near water sources. A local meat cutter told me he has seen a 50% drop off from what he normally takes in durring the opening week of gun season. Either there are fewer hunters or fewer deer in my part of the state or a combination of the two...

Nice buck! I have family that live in Pawpaw and we will do some hunting around that area.
I got a new Son inlaw good guy, I gave him a .3030 that was won in a raffle in Pelston in 1962
It was my wifes Grand fathers, he never used it he fired it once and left a box of 175 Remington-Peaters with one missing. he just about cried when I gave him this Rifle, now his neghbor who hunts is getting him in the woods when I cant, He bought a 870 at the GM off 94
with two barrels and bought a 4x scope..he will be hunting next season.
it will be great when he fills his first tag..I hope to be there..
