I have a .243AI, 1 in 8 twist, 26" barrel, that I plan on shooting 95 - 107 gr. bullets. I would like to get your recommendation on which powder to start with so I dont use up the life of the barrel in finding a good powder. I understand that what works in one gun may not work in another, but at least I would have an idea where to start. I am guessing this config would take advantage of slower powders like H4831, H1000, MagPro, etc. but would like to hear your recommendations.

I had a straight .243 win 8 twist and it loved 39.8 gr of reloader 17 cci br2 primer and nosler brass. I was getting a little over 2900 fps in a 26" barrel.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I have seen a couple posts where 4350 seems to be working for folks. I thought that would be too fast for bullets in the 95-107 range, but I guess I was wrong. Please keep the reco's coming.

Torchrider I did a ton of load testing for the 243AI over the last year. If you want more load info let know.

RL22 will most likely be your speed king...followed by H1000. I generally burn up at least 1 243AI barrel a year and pretty run RL22 and H1000 exclusively.
