I was just wondering what your theories are on why remington doesn't offer a 700 CDL Stainless Fluted in .243? Or some of the other popular calibers? I know they offered something similar for a while as a light varminter. Just wondering what you guys think. Just letting some of you guys blow off a little steam concerning remington.... If you can think of some other rants you would like to vent off go for it.

Probably because they had the good sense to offer it in better cartridges. I am not a fan of the 243Win in a sporter weight rifle, but think they are great in a heavy barreled varmint rig. I did own a 243 sporter once for my kids to start deer hunting with but when my daughter moved out and married I sold the 243. I gave each of my 2 sons a rifle and bought the daughter a model 7 CDL chambered in 7/08Rem, which I would have loved to had for my own.

I would think that it is a marketing issue. (Not enough Interest) as with most companies
everything is market driven .

Just a guess

Remington did make a CDL SF 243 limited run. Go to Guns America website and type in Remington 243. Don's Hobby and Guns has one for sale.
