I just got a Savage Model 111 Long Range Hunter .300 Win Mag with a 26" 1-10 twist barrel. I want to load some 210gr. Berger bullets but I dont know where to start and what powder works. Is there anyone that shoots a .300 Win Mag and Berger bullets that can help me out??

I would try H-1000, Berger will give you load data if you contact them. I hear they are pretty conservative on load data. It would be a good starting point.

I would try H-1000

+1

The recommendations I found when researching where to begin for a 300 win mag load were very positive for H-1000. Especially for its temp. stability.

I'm in the same boat as you... New Savage 112 VLP in 300 win mag that I'm working up loads for in time for hunting season. You'll have to let me know how the Bergers work. I thought about loading some up but want to use my magazine. I'm working on a 200 grn. Accubond/H-1000 load now.

Good luck.

I'm interested as well. I just picked up a 112 BVSS in .300 Win Mag and I'm looking for a good place to start with loads.

Thanks

I know you will have to seat the bullet pretty deep into the case so they fit in the magazine.

Just send Berger an Email, and they will send you load data for any of their bullets. They are nice folks to deal with.
I have the info, but I don't know how to transfer it here. I'm kinda new to this computer stuff, and too old to want to learn.
