I'm just curious . I wonder why they haven't targeted fishing sinkers yet ???? I thought they were made out of Lead as well. Atleast that's what we use to melt down when we made ours :):) What these individuals need is a good ole fashioned FISHIN POLE WHIPPEN !!! :D

From what I understand, if they institute the ban it will all so ban lead sinkers as well. According to foxnews, if they do go forward with the ban, the EPA will be violating a U.S. law which exempts ammo from EPA regulations.

Drudge report has it that the EPA has said "NO", to the ammo ban but is looking closely at the fishing weight ban. You have till the 15th of Sept. to voice your opinion to the EPA on the sinker question. The originators of the request for the ammo ban were some bird watchers and Veternarians.

This will never happen, the ammunition industry is way to big for the EPA to ban ammo. I can see ceratin types being banned or only only to be fire on private property or something like that. But to ban ammunition entirely would be the dumbest economic deceision ever...

Think about how many americans are employed by the ammunition manufacturing process. How much business it actually supports...

If we ban ammunition, what are the police and military going to use to protect our American freedom?

It will never happen...Obama would get impeached for letting something so dumb actually happen.

Has the EPA lost its collective mind??

There are varing levels of lead already in the environment. It has been there since the earth formed.

Here is a U.S. Government global map that shows deposits of lead with concentrations high enough for the lead to be commercially mined. There are many times more deposits with lesser assays that are not indicated.

Sediment-hosted zinc-lead deposits: interactive map

Where does the EPA think the lead comes from that hunters and fishermen are putting back into the environment??

The EPA can find better ways to use their resources to help the environment and to justify their existance than this lead issue.

Just the humble opinon of this retired Mining Research Chemist.

If you think the proposed lead ban was bad check out the Co2 ban. The EPA is just being used by the administration to regulate what they can't get the Congress to pass a law against. If they can't get it done one way they will come through the back door with the EPA.
