I've used the 168 A-MAX on rabbits, squirrels, coyotes, and mule deer. The rabbits ranged anywhere from 50-400 yards, squirrels 50-350 yards, coyotes under 200 yards, and the mule deer I shot was a head shot at 690 yards. They are very accurate and if your scope has enough elevation you can probably take prairie dogs out to 1200 or so. Ive used it in a 10 and 12 twist, both worked well.

3/4 to 1 MOA groups at 100, depending if they are 3 or 5 shot groups. That load is good to about 850 in my rifle. I only shoot that far with it because the group carries the 1 MOA accuracy with it so I have an 8, 8.5 inch group at 800 and when you shoot at 8 inch plates it's really easy to miss. If I could seat the bullets into the lands then I think that load would work really well. The rifle I have now won't even hold a 175 SMK in the case if the bullet is far enough to engage the lands. I have used a similar load with 175 bergers and get the same type of accuracy, but they are way more finicky when it comes to seating depth and any inconsistency in your handloading from day to day shows up real quick on paper. Sorry it took so long to reply I was looking for pics but I guess I didn't take any because I didn't plan on keeping that same load for this rifle. I've used a 110 V-MAX in this gun and it did really well you may want to consider that bullet accuracy was phenominal. I used:

Fed 210M Primer
Velocity 3060
This load gave me the best accuracy but you can push the bullet up to 3200 in the 308 case. I have a 1-12 twist barrel. With this load I could consistently hit clay pigeons at 830 yards the wind call is what will make or break you with this load but its a good learning tool if you want to improve your wind calling ability. Every shot needs its own wind call where the 175 load I have i usually get away with being lazy and firing 3 or 4 rounds with the same wind even though it has slightly changed.

I average around .75 Can get some really tight ones but not consistently. Starting to work with the 175 SMK. Want to reach 1000 yrds. Groundhogs get a little small past 600. Thanks for the response. Oh, my barrel has 1-10 twist.

Okay. Did you reeaally aim at the head of a deer at 690 yards?
Someday I will have to tell you about the sea duck I shot on the wing with my pistol at 300 yards.

Yeah had my buddy not been there to witness it he would have never believed me either. I also shot an Oryx in the head just under 300 yards. So here's the reality check I missed my first shot at the mule deer it was high and connected with the second, and I missed an Oryx at 120 yards about 3 hours before I killed the other one. Both head shots were within 5 min of the end of legal shooting hours on the last day of the hunts (it's easier to make em count when the pressure is on kinda like shooting a single shot). I had to call the guys at the gate for the Oryx hunt to let them know I was on my way so they wouldn't send out the search party. I practice shooting clay pigeons which are almost 4 1/4 inches in diameter so I figure at whatever range I can consistently hit those I can head shoot any big game animal.
Funny thing about the sea duck I was at the rifle range one day shooting my pistol at 7 yards and an elderly man asked why I wasn't streching the legs of my fancy pistol. He then took out his snub nose revolver and started shooting 6 inch steel gongs at 200. And so my lessons in Long Range Shooting began. 300 is a long poke for a pistol good shot.

I used the 168 amax match out of my AR (POF) at about 50 - 200 yds. basically mine were blown in half or nearly in half. One time i did actually see the 2 parts flip end over end in the air through my scope at about 80 yds out. My 223 75 gr hollow pts match ammo puts a nice hole in them but not as much "action" out of the kill i guess.
The nice thing about using these, is for longer range shot when it's windy out. I found that i didn't have to account for as much wind as with my 223, obviously... and they reach out alot farther for the kill.

I've shot woodchucks with the 178's out to 1000 and they make a mess to say the least

For a mess ,try a 190 berger with a texas heart shot at 60 yds..
