I use the model just below and get along just fine. They aren't perfect but are a decent tool.

I'd get the model you mention but the name gets on my nerves.

Price wise you are so close to get one awesome chronograph which is the CED M2. If you read the manual and use a solid platform like a good tripod you'll be happy you got it. That's what I "would" do. I got mine for $195.99 but they usually run $199.99.

I believe they're worth much more than that. I've had two of the former generation and the newest M2; 3 all together. I would buy another one just to have them in tandem if I could afford it. For now, one is enough!

Did I mention to read the manual? Many folks get in trouble and blame it on the chronograph just out of laziness...

Nothing against any of the chronys mentioned, heard lots of good reviews from others on them. It may be way more than you want to spend but, didn't know if your aware of the Oehler 35p. There making a limited run of them with deliveries set for around the end of August. Lots of good reviews on them as well.

Yea chase that one is abit more than I was looking for
Im noteven sure I need one
Sometimes I really would like the data from one but Im not convinced I would use one enough to justify the cost.

Sounds like maybe you just need to use one just once in a while...any shooting buddies near you that wouldn't mind loaning you theirs from time to time? Heck if we were closer I'd loan you mine once in a while.

Either way it doesn't sound like you need to spend alot of $ when there are less expensive ones that folks seem pretty happy with and will probably serve you well. Let us know which one you choose and how it works for you.

I think Eaglets advice would be good to consider! I use a shooting chrony and it is such a huge pain in the butt to set up and use that I use one less than I should. I'm upgrading to the CED in the future because of ease of use, trying to get data out of the Shooting chrony is ridiculous!! If you get one that is user friendly you will use it more often and find it a better tool, IMO.

You're righ on that one, you've got to justify it or sleep in the car!!!

I have had 5 Chronographs all together:

1) Chrony (many many moons ago, I shot at it once and missed, then I gave it away
2) Pact Mark IV (I still have, it's a chronograph and timer for when I shoot my hand guns, tells me the speed of the draw and magazine change speed etc.)
3) CED Millennium (I let my hunting buddy have it for cheaper because I had my Pact)
4) CED Millennium (to justify it, my pact was acting up a bit...)
5) CED M2 (Sold #4 to buy the newer one. I just had to have it)

Always dreamed on having an Oehler until I read many articles as to how amazingly accurate the CED with 2' apart screen was compared to the bigger boy Oehler.

The CED is indeed a great chronograph IF YOU KNOW HOW TO USE IT!!!!

Bryan Litz, Berger's Ballistician, was packing around the Oehler 35 until he fully tested the CED M2 and found out how extremely accurate it was. No joke. You want a great chronograph for little money, that's the one!

Eaglet
do you use their tripod as well or do you use something else?
Did you get the carry bag?
if so how are they quality wise?
thanks

Retiredcpo,

No... I use my own tripod. I've never seen theirs but mine is sturdy, good and stable. It's a Bogen tripod, aluminum legs that are round, tube like.

I have been meaning to get the carry bag, it has not happened so far. I do want it though.
