Recently built a Mauser Z-24 in 260. Douglas XX barrel, 26 inch # 3 contour. 1 in 9 twist. Timmeny trigger. Boyds thumb hole stock, bedded. Found a 'coupla good loads: 140 A Max, 42.5 H 4831 SC. Lapua 243 brass, sized to 264, Trimed to 2.025. CCI Mag primer. OAL, 2.785. 4 shots 3 cutting same hole last shot 1/4 inch off. 1/2 MOA.

Second load same spcs as above. 123 Sierra match, 38.5 gr Varget. 3/8 inch MOA. Any more ideas on loads would be appreciated. Having lots of fun w/ this gun...

I don't know anything about your action, but if its strong, you can find another accuracy point at 46gr of H4831sc for your 140 class bullets. I use the 139 scenar for match shooting as do many others at our local range, with great accuracy. With Rem brass you can go 47 gr, velocity just over 2800 with a 26" barrel. Most of us are shooting 8 or 8.5 twist, if that matters.

I bought 100 243 Lapua brass, but found that I can get more powder in the Rems. I have weighed several @ 159.9 to 161.0. These are the ones I have been using for my 129 SST Hornady @ 49.9 - H4831 SC. They shoot OK, but not really hole / hole at 100 yds. I have ordered some 130 Bergers, but not received them as yet. I wm also going to round up some Lapua, 139's I am going to try your recomendation. Thank you for your reply...

just keep in mind the scenars are match bullets - don't try to hunt with them they won't expand properly....

This load should work with your "140 Amax" but you may need to sort bullets by bearing surface for best long range accuracy.
