I have been looking at these guys for a few years now.I was thinking of buying 1.Now I have heard some negative stuff. But no real foundation to their problem or it was someone elses problem.I would like to hear. From people who have shot or have owned.A Christian Arms rifle.Just tell it like it is.

I had a rifle built on a wby fibermark action and stock. The gun will shoot MOA very light and a great mountian rifle. The gun does what I wanted and I am happy with it. If you want a long range tack driver in a bigger caliber just be wary of how light the barrel will be thus increasing the recoil.

not too many guys on here have owned or shot one simply because they get picked up and in a few seconds its apperent that it is all marketing hype behind these rifles and for the money, you can get alot more. Custom is the way to go.
I LOOKED at one (I havent shot one). It had a tupperwear stock, the machining wasnt great, the trigger was mediocere at best and the list goes on. I understand that they do have higher end models, but for the price you can get a remmy action blueprinted (or savage), skeletonized the bolt, put an ABS barrel on it and finish it with a manners or mcmillan stock and be in the same $$ range.
BUT that being said, try to find one and handle it and you'll know right away if it meets your standard.

I have owned 3, from the hunter to the full custom. I will never own one again. The rifles look great on the outside, but were it counts, the weapon falls short (VERY SHORT). The 3 in 1/2 inch in the custom is with a load work up, not factory ammo. When I had my rifles, they all would act different in hot and cold weather, even trying to wok up loads I had to let the barrel sit for 15 min. between each round, or I would sting rounds. My best 3 shot group was 1/2" but could not do it again average 2 inch. I had sent back to Chistensen Arms, they said nothing was wrong, that the rifle shot 1/2 inch but they would not tell me the load, and the target was shot with 224 cal bullets not 30 cal. Just go with a lighter barrel and a good smith.

+1

My friends dad bought one and he had nothing but problems. It wouldnt feed right, never shot very well, and cost way too much. When he sent it back they said it feed fine. My butt it feed right. I dont think they even looked at it cause it was the same when it came back. I wouldnt ever think of getting one for what they cost. In fact I would rather have a factory REM700. The one and only thing I will give them is they are nice to carry. Very light.

There was a thread just recently that had alot of feed back. Use the search function on this site.

I looked at them about a 1 1/2 years ago. After alot of research I ended up going with a smith from this site. It was the best decision I ever made. The smith listen to what I had to say and help guide and direct me through my first build. I got exactly what I wanted. Cost was about the same - the quality and performance is second to none.

Good luck.

I had one built about 10 years ago, I still have it, wont sell it and wont let you shoot it either LOL seriously I would let you shoot it to try it.

I at the time was stationed in california and was comming home from deployment, I had the cash and wanted to treat myself, it is the best darn coyote rifle period for me that is. it as light as a model seven and shoots like a custom 700 with heavy barrel. it shoots under 1/2" with hand loads and digests winchester over the counter 50gr supremes almost at 1/2 inch.

mine is on a 700 action, timney trigger and 26" barrel chambered in 223 with a 1:12 twist built specifically for coyote hunting, the only other option that comes to mind would be a Ultra Light Arms but they too are about the same price. I would recommend one to anyone however the only thing I dont like is the price. I am a working man and to have 3K to put out on a rifle can sometimes put as strain on the wife, but hey only a lazy man wont find his wife a second job.

not a good picture but its all I got, I also topped this with a old Redfield Tx-27 5.5-20x44.

I have one in 300 WSM and it shoots sub MOA, around 3/4 MOA as I remember. It is very pleasant to shoot. I purchased it several years ago for an Elk hunt that I ended up having to cancel. I have not shot it but around 25 times. It is not what I would use for long range, past 400 yard.

I am not going to carry my 14 lb long range rifle in the mountains on a walking hunt either!

For me, it is a special purpose rifle.

A hunting buddy of mine had one built on a Browning A-bolt receiver in 300 WM about 8 years ago and it is a tack driver. Cold/Hot it shoots to the same point of impact.

I am new to long range shooting. I purchased a Christensen arms 300 ultra mag last year, have fired approxmatly 300 rounds and am extremly happy with it. I find that it has been flawless and recently took a muley at 600 +yds. I had a muzzle break installed which brings the recoil down to that of a 243. I use hand loads with 185 gr burger bullets and shoot 1"groups. Ive been hunting for 50 years , I think this is the last rifle Ill ever need.

I purchased a CA 300 rum hunter off the shelf for 2199.00 I have shot 200 rounds thru it it has shot 180 swift sirrocos at 3511 fps ,494 group,200 g swift a frames at 3200 fps .560 group and today i shot 230 gberger hybrids at 3125 and the smallest group was .410 all in a 8lbrifle with a 4x12 leupold scope I cant ask for any more from it,with the factory muzzle brake it kicks like a .243 ,i love it and cant say enough good about it.Im planning on fine tuning the 230 bergers for long range and I think im going to try the bushnell 4.5x30 -50 and a have a dual purpose rifle. I will be buying more from them

About 3 months ago I was having what I thought was a great day, I got myself a Christensen Arms Rifle!! Today was a much better day, I finally got rid of that PIG!!
