I got out and did some shooting today and tested 3 designs of muzzle brakes on my 338 Nawakwa (338 lapua imp) I was shooting 300g Sierra match kings with 100g of Retumbo. The first shot was with a standard brake the second brake is one of these

and the last brake is the same as the second but the ports are angled back here is the video

I noticed you took aim through the scope but, then lifted your head up and out of the way on the first 2 brakes but, on the 3rd you held sight picture and didn't lift your head up and away. Was that because you weren't sure what the recoil was going to be like with the first two?

That is correct. When I start with a new project like this and am shooting a rifle scope I like to see how far the gun comes back before I get my face in the way. So the first 2 shots were easy to control so I kept my sight on the target for the 3rd shot.

Very nice! Who made the muzzle brakes?

Thanks for sharing.

ADDED:

I'm not sure of dimensions, designs, or performance, but they have some similarities (except for ports and hole(s) configurations) with this ...

Yes, we have another good LR smithlightbulb

I like your brakes... My rifle is Fed-Exing out to you today... I have some ideas I wanna bounce off you for a brake on my 260 project... ill PM you...

Funny all the hub- bub about Erics brakes. Obviously these designs must work like crap, because now he is copying the Muscle Brake.

My design works excellent and I am going to continue to use the original design.
