I have a 700 RUM action I need the following work done to it fairly quickly, or at least in the next 4-12 weeks. Anyone know a gunsmith that does great work that may be able to get this done? This will be for my .338 edge build.

Blue print action/bolt
Install Sako Extractor
Flute bolt (Rem ti style 6 flutes)
Install tactical bolt knob
Skeletonize bolt handle
Milling for wyatt extended box

Better idea!

Sell yours for $375 to $400 and buy an instock 700 footprint with 1.350" diameter SS custom and save $ and have higher quality in one week instead of 4-12 weeks.

Dave Tooley has in stock his new actions. Long and Short, either port, either bolt with any bolt face.

Completely true out of the box, pinned recoil lug, choice of sako or M16 extractor in the bolt. Bolt is already fluted with small diameter firing pin hole to better handle pressure and upgraded tricked out firing pin and spring. Bolt comes melonite coated (surface hardening to reduce pitting on bolt face and smooth operation). Comes with side mounted bolt release. 8-40 scope screw holes on top and pinned trigger

Bolt handle is already threaded for larger aftermarket knobs. Comes with standard small knob. add your choice of knobs by screwing on and loctite.

Mine cost $880 shipped and arrived in 3 days last week. No way you are going to get that same work done for same money and you will have a much better action. I dropped mine off with my smith for a 6.5x47 build before I got any pics, but it is really a slick action and for the money cannot be beat especially. You are talking a minimum of $450-700 or more for what described if not more, on top of the action.

Only thing I am not sure of is if it is ready for Wyatts box, if not Dave will make it ready in a very short time.

These actions will still need to be cleaned up to........

On what basis can you factually say that?

Specifically how many have you seen and measured to substantiate such a wild statement?

What exactly needs to be "cleaned"?

FYI they are made for Tooley by Stiller to Daves specs and are as uniform as the BATs.

Kevin at Montour County Rifles will do the job fast and right. His shop is completely set up for this work and he is a no BS guy.

I just saw his shop last week and he is serious about what he does.
He is listed here too.
