Well let me start out by telling you if you don't already know how I got this gun. I bought a 17 hmr about 3 years ago and just a couple months ago had a guy that wanted to trade me his 300 wsm. Well I was a little reluctant too at first but finally warmed up to the idea of it so I traded. It is a Savage model 11. I purchased a Choate super sniper stock to go on it. I only have a cheap Tasco Pronghorn 4-16x40 scope on it. The trigger is terrible, it has creap and is heavy but i decided I was going to shoot it before sinking any more monay into it. Here in the last month and a half I have been trying to find a good load for it with the 155g Bergers but the smallest group I could get was .785. So last Saturday I went and bought some 168 SMKs and loaded some of them up. Well right off the bat I was happy. First load grouped .7?? At 100 yds. Second load was .360 Needless to say I was happy with that. I did try a couple other loads but nothing that did as good. So this weekend I go to my parents farm where I can streach the legs on it a little and shot. Well being a pretty much stock gun except the stock I was very impressed with how well it did. here is another one that you can tell a little more about how big it is

Good shooting! The stock Savage rifle never ceases to amaze and please. I just shot my "new" Savage today at 500yds for the first time. Wow!
Of course you know you have to shoot it farther, right? You should really consider stopping right now, while you have money, friends, family and sanity left. This addiction will invade and take over your entire life! You will constantly be thinking about "group therapy" :)
Again, nice shooting. JohnnyK.

Yes the savages are great. I have had this disease for several years now and it does not seem to be getting any better. As a matter of fact my condition seems to be getting worse by the day (long range fever):D
Anyway i plan on trying to streach the legs a little farther tomarrow if the weather permits.Well see

Winmag i am not sure what it weighs i have not weighed it. If i had to guess i would say 9-10lbs but again that is just a guess.
