need help finding 20 MOA base for weatherby mark 5

I cannot find any bases for a weatherby mark 5 in the 338-378 caliber, midway does show a base for remington 700 and it also has weatherby mark 5 in the same listing, are they the same base (screw pattern)???? looking for a 20 moa base to hold a vortex viper PST when they hit the market any help would be appreciated

I think I got my last two in less than under two weeks and I think he had to make at least one of them.

Just give Richard a call, he is not sheap but he has a good product and he is a straight shooter.

I have tossed two EGW's in the trash in the last year. Flimsy crap that didnt fit the receiver and was not flat on top. When you add in the wasted time, aggrivation, price of the base and wasted ammo.... Near was very cheap.

I have a Ferrel on my Wby vanguard action. It worked out well but is very tall off the action. But then the nears are a bit tall too.

Wow! Sorry to hear that. I never heard of anyone having problems with the EGW bases. Mine is holding up very well. I wouldn't have suggested something I didn't think was a good product.

Nothing personal intended 3fingervic , hope I didnt sound that way. I know some people use egw's and are happy with them. Maybe on a light small cal low recoil rifle if you bedd them on. But, I have seen the bad side of some EGW's. I could bend them with my hands, and when I tightened them down they were far from square on top. This results in loss of MOA adjustment or a gain of it depending on which way the machining was off. But the uneven force they apply into the scope tube is not good. I have also found that many receivers flex uder recoil in the thin area between the front and back mount screws. A good one piece mount can strengthen this area and stop the flexing from being tansfered to the tube of the scope. I feel this is important in retaining a good zero and a well tracking scope system. I can only get this using good rings and a well fitted strong base.

I didn't take it personal at all. I was basically apologizing for suggesting a base that was substandard. The one I have for my Savage is very nice, and it's a .300wm.

I have an egw on my 300 acumark....no issues as yet...cloverleafs with the right load.
Agree Near is the best...

MMM mine fitted nice and flush but its a 2 or 3 year old Accumark.. could there be variance on different Mk5 models or manufacturing?

Jus getting stuff in Aus...EGW no issue!

Hey guys,
I am rather computer-dumb and haven't found a thread related to this topic which answers my question.
I got tired of an over-powered Burris on my 30/378 Mark V and saved up for another scope. I bought a 20 moa base for it, however I am forced to hold a bit low for closer shots as my scope has no mroe movement in that direction.
Simple question, with your 20 moa mounts, is this a typical issue?

Talley makes a pretty decent rail for the Mark IV, priced a bit more than the EGW but still way less than the high end stuff.
