I built this rifle while going to school at The Colorado School of Trades Gunsmithing School. Its a short action left hand Savage action, Krieger MTU contour 30" pipe 1:8" tw, Joel Russo Manners MCS T-2 stock, and on top is a Leupold VX-3 8.5-25x50. The reamer was throated for 105-107gr bullets and is a no turn neck. I pillar bedded the stock with devcon and aluminum pillars, and finished the stock with Tru Oil. I shoot Sierra 107 MatchKings with 30gr of Varget, Fed match primers, and Lapua cases. My best 5 shot group at 600y was 1.6" and best for 5 at 1000y was right around 5"! I absolutely love shooting this rifle!

Rifle DOES shoot just as good as it looks! I have shot this rifle and it is literally a point and shoot rifle. Almost takes the fun out of shooting, if that's even possible! Nice rig and glad I know someone that builds sweet rifles.

I looked at the picture and thought "Joel Russo Stock".

Very nice rifle.

Now you need a dead antelope or coyote to make the picture perfect.

Neil, are you back in MO now or still in CO?

Your rifle is awesome, looks like the schoolin is going well for ya, congrats!

I get my 6br build this week. It too has a 8 twist Kreiger.

So, the 107 SMK's, taken any LR game with them from the 6br?

Jeff

Hey Jeff, I'm in CO still I graduate in a week and a half! I'll be moving back to MO. I shot a couple prairie dogs over the weekend one at 335y and one 288y, nothing too far but we didnt see too many of them. Hopefully I'll bag some more game with it over time! Thanks for the complement.

Cool! Good luck with your new career!

So with the 107 SMK's on the PD's, what was the splat factor and air time like? I hope to find one accurate do it all bullet and the 107 SMK look promising.
