Im new to the site and im looking for some help and advise. I just bought a Remington 700 SS 5R 300WIN MAG. I will be using it to do long range(at least 1000yds) PD hunting. Im plan on going with a NightForce NSX scope but i cant decide between 22 power or the 32.

I have both the 32 and the 22 power night force. The 32 only has 65 MOA and the 22 has 100 MOA. Most of the guys I know use the 22 power for this reason. I use my 22 power on my edge built by shawn Carlock and I love it. I feel pretty comfortable shooting this set up to 1,200 yards.

Im building a new 408 cheytac and Im putting my 32 power NXS on it. Im willing to sacrafice the loss in MOA beacuse I just feel a bit more comfortable with more power way way out there.

If you're just starting out and you want to get real good to 1,000 yards, I'd recommend the 22 power night force, you cant go wrong, its an awesome scope~~

I am new to this site also and have been reading about the merits of NF scopes. What reticle would one select if there were going to shoot prairie dogs and also want to puch holes in targets?
