We typically have 6 guys hunt the 3rd rifle season near Hayden, CO. This year due to the economy 3 of them cannot make it. It is a 6600 acre ranch and the mule deer range from 150 inch to 196 inch. Safe average of 165 inch. The price of $1350 allows you 9 days of hunting and includes a cow elk if they come down with the snow. If a bull is shot, it is another $375. No extra charges for deer. We really need to get this year booked, but if someone wants to discuss next year, please pm me.

References are available from last year's hunters. Thank you

This was a muzzleloader buck off the alfalfa. These bucks are year around residents on the ranch. This one went 196 nontypical, and we have seen two that were larger. More realistic is a mature 4x4 in the 160s +/- 10".

At this time, it looks like 2010 is completely full. The unit is 13 and requires one point to guarantee drawing which is really the only way to do it. For those who are interested, if you have zero points by all means apply for one this year. You can only shoot one mule deer, however as mentioned you can also have an elk tag in your pocket. In June and July, we will start looking at the group of previous hunters to see who can hunt again in 2011. If interested please contact me after this years draw.

Third season runs 9 full days and starts this year on Oct 23rd.

Ah shame, don't have off school yet on oct 23rd... Would have love get a chance at mule deer and elk. Hope you fill the spots! And good luck to anyone who goes. Just make sure you do a write up for the rest of us to drool over :D

One more thing, how are the youth draw odds?
