If anyone is on a budget and wanted a long range scope at a great value then look at the BSA Platinum 6-24X44 target scope for about $150 bucks.

I have been shooting this scope for three years now on my Rem 700 Sendero 270win and it is always dead on. I have shot approximately 600 hundred rounds thru it and never had it bumped off of Zero. I shoot it anywhere from 300-1,000 yards and the turrests always return to Zero. The scope is clear and crisp for the price and I can use it as a spotter out past 200 yards when sighting in other rifles.

For a cheap target scope it works great, I don't recomend it for hunting simply as it's optics don't work as well during low or intense sun light conditions. With that said I have actually used this scope to take two deer and one elk, both deer were late morning, and the elk was at last shooting light with the sunset to my back.

Hope this can help get someone into long ranges without breaking the bank. Adjustmenst are in 1/8" incriments not 1/4".

I can vouch for this scope. It is a good one. I have one mounted on my 243 Super Rock Chucker and it works perfectly. The only thing i dont like about it is the bell focus. Other than that great for the $$$$

I have an BSA Platinum 8-32x44mm and I would be willing to sale it for $100.00. It is use but in like new condition.

I'm not sure I only used it on a 223 AR and a 22 about 1 year ago. I would have to take back out but I'm sure it is about the same.

If you are wanting it to measure up to a $1,000 scope it won't happen, but I doubt you will hear any complaints on it's value or efficency, and I would guess you would be hard pressed to find one that worked better for less than $400.......

Like I said.... I'm not saying it's a bad scope FOR THE MONEY. But to call it a 1000 yd scope is a big stretch IMO.

How clearly can you see targets to 1000 yds with this scope?
How much travel do the turrest have?
How reliable and repeatable are the turrets?
How much recoil will it take?
And here's a biggy.... how well does it adjust for parallax?

If you can get some good 1000 yd groups shooting with this scope, please let us know.

Not trying to step on anyone's toes, but for the most part, you get what you pay for and if you dont get what you pay for, you usually get less than what you pay for and not more. This aint a 1000yd scope. It might be a 500 yd scope on a light cal rifle, but I wouldn't hope for much more.

Cheers,

Mark
