I can't decide. I am going to buy a 300 RUM in a Sendero II or a PSS. I shoot a PSS in a 308 for work and like the feel. That would be a plus for cheek weld and comfort. I like the look of the Sendero but looks aren't what makes the rifle when it comes to shooting. I know Remington has some issues with barrel roughness, so I am looking for reviews from people shooting either one in an ultra mag or a 300 win mag.

hey I had a friend that had a Sendero that would shoot a dime size group out to 300yards.all he did to the rifel was that he put a muzzel brake on it.but with his reloads he made a beleaver out of me.but this is a rifel I know of so I can not speak for another.but it does sound like it to me that you will have to really make a good call on to what you want.so I hope this is something that can help you out. John and yea it was a 300wm

My first handloads through my Sendero II in .300 RUM gave me a group of 0.477". This was just my break in rounds.

Tang, my 300 looks just like yours and groups as good, but i have a 2.5-10X56 Nikon Gold on mine, tracks great and has withstood about 400 rounds so far with no brake, i dont like a brake, but also took yur advice about Ruger 77 for son, dropping off next week, trigger work, 2.5lbs, full bed. What ya think? by the way, i spazzed and missed a 180 class buck at 130yrds this weekend, AH S--t.

Sorry I only have input on a Sendero II 300win. Absolutely love it. About 30 rounds thru it so far - still in load development - You can cover a 3 shot group with a quarter at 200 yards. Have not had an opportunity to shoot further yet. Mine has a Zeiss 4.5x14x44 RZ 800 scope on it, Jim at Center Shot Rifles adjusted the trigger to about 2.5#, skim bedded, lapped the lugs, installed a wyatts box mag and put his CSR break on it. Its a dream to shoot. So far it likes 185 grain bullets with h-1000 powder and cci 250 mag primers.

I also have a Sendero, although it's an older model in .270 Winchester, and I also have had excellent accuracy with it. Best 3-shot group so far has been .187". Ironically, the worst group during load development was the group just prior (1.321"), and was exactly the same load. I shot 8 groups with 130gr Ballistic Tips during load development, and the avg. group size was .662" (this included the group where I jerked the trigger).

Shot three more groups doing a quick development with 90gr Sierra HPs, and the average size was .541" (all three groups were between .5-.6").

With all that said, comparing a PSS to a Sendero doesn't seem to compute too well in my mind. On one hand you have a Rem. 700, with a heavy barrel, mounted in a HS Precision stock. On the other hand, you have a Rem. 700, with a fluted heavy barrel, mounted in a HS Precision stock.

Of the two, I would probably grab the Sendero II, for the flutes and stainless action/barrel. Beyond that, I don't think there is much of a difference.

Thanks for all the info on your Senderos. I am leaning that way since no one can tell me about a PSS.

Its too cold and wet outside for me to continue load work just yet. But I already do not regret my decision to go for the SF-II. I love the large palm swell on the new stock. With my long fingers everything just feels perfect, and this gun shoots amazingly. So far, with my break in handloads, and even some older "managed recoil" 150gr bullets, I have yet to have it make a 100 yard group over an 1".
