Just so everyone knows, if you remove the power source EMP will not harm your electronics. That's if you have warning that its coming.

I really need to study-up on this more, but I don't think the electronics have to be energized to be affected by an EMP or powerful Solar Flare! memtb

Correct. And which side is facing the sun.
Most people that keep up on the news assume nuclear emp from an enemy when this discussion comes up.
Which is entirely possible that will come first, given today's political climate.
But a growing body of evidence suggests a solar blast from a micronova is entirely possible or even likely in the next 100 years and mabye more like 10-20. We already dodged a pretty big CME bullet from the sun this spring by *not that narrow* of a margin, and with the earth's weakening magnetic field, we are much more vulnerable than anytime in recent human history.
Humans, and plenty of other species have survived these (10,000 year cycle) extinction level solar events (and smaller 5000 year half cycle events) so there's hope. But it will be ugly as the extinction records indicate.

I changed my one electronic left to manual. Mine was occasionally needing the combo entered twice to work. A buddy of mine had the same problem and it took 2 locksmiths to get into it when it crapped out completely. It was easy to switch it out.
