How are those using "caliber" to mean "cartridge" not getting mud hole stomped like those saying "clip" instead of "magazine"?

Are they the same folks that say "I seen" instead of "I saw" because I see that mistake and I automatically think of Busch Light drinkers…

Caliber is the size of the bullet
Cartridge is the Brass, Primer, Powder and Bullet combined.

Yes it's kind of screwed up when places like gunbrokers have their filters set up to where you go to look up a cartridge and they have caliber instead of cartridge. A 300 blackout and a 30-378 weatherby are the same caliber but way different cartridge. 🤔

Technically yes you are correct on the difference. But how many times have you heard someone say what cartridge is that gun chambered for? I would guess most people ask what caliber is that gun?

Everyone knows what they are asking.

I also don't correct someone who says how many rounds does that clip hold…

BTW - I don't mind drinking Busch Light as long as it's cold - just not my 1st choice! 😁

I think you'd be incorrect. Caliber tells far less of the story. Cartridge gives all the important details.

When I ask what someone is shooting, they tell me the cartridge and sometimes the brand of gun.....never the caliber. The lone exception is the 6.5 CM. People act a little embarrassed and say a 6.5....

Like I said above yes cartridge is the correct terminology but most of us know what the other person is asking is they use the word caliber.

Also, I do like my 6.5 creedmoors but no I don't have a man bun nor could I grow one even if I wanted to! I can't stand it when my hair grows over to the top of my ears. 😆

How about farther as in distance and further as in philosophy. Same thing with I and me people choke all the time on that.
