What’s your favorite caliber for deer?

I started my three sons with a custom Winchester 70 in 250-3000 with 100 gr bullets at 2600 fps, I watched them kill about ten deer with that rifle, all on shot kills, all within 100 yards. I soon realized that deer are not hard to kill if shot properly. I like lots of different cartridges but I know it doesn't take a super mag to kill a deer.

I grew up hunting with a m77 in 250-3000 and 100gr sp. We killed a bunch of deer with that rifle. Great round to start out on.

.243, .308, or 7mm Rem Mag depending on where I am and what I'm chasing.

My old H&R .243 has proved to be very effective on whitetail and my 7mm is great when I want to go roam the mountains after bigger deer at longer ranges.

*Edit for clarification.

I assume by 7 mm you mean the 7mm rem mag?

There's a ton of 7mms most of which are better long range deer rounds than the .243 or .308 win haha
