I finally got my barrel from Mcgowen, headspaced and mounted. I actually recieved it yesterday. My first impression was WOW this sucker is heavy. This is my first heavy barrel rifle and I really like the feel of it, VERY SOLID and very balanced feeling on my rifle. I checked the bore and it was very bright and shiny, next the crown, it looked to be what it was supposed to be no mars or marks or anything of the sort. The barrel was very shiny upon opening, NO fingerprints whatsoever until I touched it. It took some time to get my barrel channel opened up but it finally happened I will have to seal the foam though, no biggie. I dont know when I will be able to shoot it, my range is about an hour away. Here are the pics all mounted up.

just curious by why leave it shiny? no intentions of bead blasting it for a non glare finish to contrast with the matte blued metal?

I probably wont leave it shiny. I dont know if I want to do the paint job myself or have it cerakoted. I would want to do the action, recoil lug and barrel all the same color
