I saw bigger buffalo in the vid. Wonder why they didn't shoot them?
Personally, I think those hit buffalo ran too far before dying. Should of had higher BC.....

I think alotta those bison hunts you pay by the pound and they butcher right at the ranch. Think buying a beef...you get to shoot. The heads on the ones shot will still look plenty big. OR maybe they just didn't feel they had enough BC to kill a big one?

I met a guy in PA who had a house full of trophies, including 2 BIG buffalo. I asked him about the kills and he said that he and his wife drew tags in the Dakotas in different years. His wife was gloating that she killed the bigger of the two. I was curious to know what they used to take the big brutes and asked about the cartridges used. He said that they both used a 300Wby mag but it wasn't needed. "When you put a Partition" in their ear, they just fold."
I shot my buffalo with a 375Ruger and used a 260 Partition. The bull took two shots directly behind the shoulder and didn't drop until he was good and ready. There is something to be said about CNS shots on biggame animals.

When I was looking into a Buff hunt, I found a couple of those.......UUCCKK!! They drive um in a pen to shoot um,
No f*****g way for me....but that's just me......

A good friend of mine took a large buffalo in S. Dakota with his bow. He said that the buffalo he encountered (in the wild) were fearless of people and that you could walk up rather close without them showing much concern. He said the shot was easy, but he was concerned what the buffalo might do once it was hit with the arrow. Everything was rather eventless during his hunt.
IMO - buffalo hunting isn't nearly as exciting as most other types of biggame hunting.
Big difference with Cape Buffalo and Bison. Got around 8 Cape and 3 Bison under my 416 Rigby. Nothing HoHum with the CBs ever, little drama with the bison.

I'm sure that you are right about that. I have no personal experience with Cape Buffalo but there are enough Youtube videos to convince anyone of the inherent dangers of hunting Cape Buffalo.
