1940 Ford Coupe...I need to do a full restoration on.
My mom has a 1959 Chevy Impala that my Grandpa purchased in 1960, swapped in a 409 and drag raced it for a while. Now it has a 305 and it a parade queen.
My Dad has a 72 Ford F100 with a built 302, power brakes/steering etc.
My Grandpa had a 1966 Ford Fairlane with the 427. They only built 57 of them. Sadly my Grandma sold it when he passed away about 15 years ago. Restored it would be worth about $250k.

Those are all cool. That Fairlane would have gone for big money! Especially as a survivor car. Wowie! Dual quad and side oiler?
Many police interceptor Galaxies in early 60's were issued that way I believe.
High school car, wish I had it back now! 1967 Plymouth GTX 440... The first year of the 440, they called it the Super Commando, those were the days! Car is long gone but still have the girl so that's a fair trade!!! These old Polaroids are from 1979, dang hard to say that now LOL

about ten years ago I took on a project over the winter . a customer of mine , turned friend , had a 1957 chevy they tore apart in high school . lost interest in it and packed it away in boxes . he asked me if I would put it together after being apart for 40 years . after all that time only the wiper set up , and driveshaft got lost . they carried in the frame , drivetrain stuff , and boxes . I did the bolts and nuts stuff , he has a bodyman friend that did that stuff . so the car went back and forth between us . it's a 327 , 4 speed . I had it back the summer of 2021 and put on a holley fuel injection set up . the underneath is as nice as the top .

I drag raced for awhile , then had my son racing too .
Love me some V-8 Chevy Vega, a buddy had one with a 383 stroker that'd run 10.40's in street trim!!! That was fast back in those days!!!
Never had one of my own, but my favorite would be my brother's 67 Corvette with a 427/430 hp motor. One of my fondest childhood memories is when he would come to a stop on a straight stretch of country road, place a $20 on the dash and tell me it was mine if I could reach it. I was 9 or 10 at the time and never did get that $20.
67 to 69 SS/RS Camaros and 67 and 70 Chevelle SS's (didn't care for 68 and 69). My dad was born in 55 and was a big muscle car guy. When I was 16-20 years old I wanted one so bad but and I drug him all over the state showing him cars and could have bought them all for a song. Now they are better than money sitting in the bank.

Can am commander, 1000cc of pure mountain goat, top end speeds that scares the begeebers out of me, only did it once on a gravel road and at 65 mph, never again
Had a buddy that had a green 67 Fairlane GT, it was a 390 4bbl car. the one wheel wonder it'd bake that right rear tire to the rim!!! Was a beautiful car!!Yup, dual quads, side oiler 427, fiberglass pin on hood. He painted it yellow
My friend did a Vega Wagon V8 . I love the Vegas .

Back in the day you relied on raw horsepower a good transmission and the right gears in the rear end. Nowadays they rely on computer programming.
And I would say 10.40's are pretty fast seeing that my old Mopar was only doing low 9's in a 1/8 mile. (I had wrong R/E gears for 1/8)
