Whats the cartridge you LOVE to HATE?

Oh man now you're really going for it!

I have a .270 and, with 4 small kids, a dodge minivan!!! 🤣

I will say, while it was my first gun my .270 sees less trigger time than my other 5 centerfires (.243, .257 wby, 300 win mag, 8x57, and .358 Norma)

I don't hate these cartridges but also, I've had rifles chambered in them, sold them, don't miss them:

.223 Remington
.308 Winchester

They're wonderfully practical, useful, and just so darn boring to me.

Wow….you've taken "minimalist" to a whole new level! And that level is only the first floor! 😉 memtb

Hahaha…wait is it cuz in this crowd 6 centerfire rifles is a depressingly low number? 🤣. I'm only 31! I need more time (and money) to build up the inventory!

It is weird how the heart wants what the heart wants as they say. I wish mine just really wanted .308s and .223s, everything about them is easy, user friendly, inexpensive…but they just don't do anything for me haha.

Of my rifles the 270 and .300 win are the ones that have seen the most use in the real world of hunting.

But now the 257 wby and .358 Norma hold pretty much all of my attention and plans…ever since I was like 11 or so I've wanted a rifle in these calibers someday. The 257 is way less practical than the .25-06…and I've never had the slightest interest in the .25-06. In my mind it's the .25-ALMOST. Which I know is nonsense but it doesn't change that I feel that way (while in the same breath bashing the 7 mag for not being that much more than my .270 🤣). And the .358 Norma I know full well doesn't really do anything the more common and practical .338 win or .375 hh can't do and I plainly don't care. Neither of those two hold the slightest appeal to me: I wanted the .358 Norma, not everyone had one, and it's got this intangible cool factor. So when the right deal came along, I JUMPED ON IT!

You're still an impetuous, headstrong, youngster ready to take on the world! 😁 Having a "big pile" of shooters is awesome……but, ya only "need" one hunt'n rifle/cartridge! 😉 The simplicity of that will come with age 🙀 and wisdom! 😁 memtb

I don't feel young anymore haha…have a 5 year old, 4 year old, and 2 year old twins, just finished a masters degree, and had the bittersweet privilege and duty of pastoring a small church of senior citizens through its last chapter DURING A PANDEMIC, closing permanently in December 2021.

"coincidentally" I feel I've aged 2 decades on the inside over the last five years 🤣. I'm already on blood pressure medication like half of the guys on here 😬

TBH I could get by with only a 6 Dasher and a 30-06, those cover the entirety of my "needs" so long as I'm willing to be a hunter who works hard.

But then "wants" happen and you end up with a 375 CheyTac. Would love to hit an armadillo with it though. Would most likely be a very uneventful pencil hole....

I've been on cholesterol pills since I was 25, genetics bites you sometimes.

Hehehe…what if you load it with one of those 200-240 grain hollow points intended for .375 Winchester 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁?

We don't have armadillos here…maybe the Saskatchewan version would be a porcupine. But as I've cautioned in a different thread, an exploding porcupine comes with some inherent risks 🤣🤣🤣🤣

^^Truth^^

To that end....there's not much in North America that you can't get done with a 30-06.....and still be able to find ammo for it in most backwoods mom and pops shops if need be.

110gr Varmageddon to a 220gr Partition.....but after 117 years, it's certainly not the latest and greatest glam offering

You have "crammed" a lot of life into your short residency here on planet Earth! Except for the "blood pressure meds, you should be the envy of most of us! memtb

Why are you limiting yourself to such puny bullets? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

This is a 250 grain hawk. Will stabilize in a 10 twist.

I am "saddled" with a slightly different cartridge! When I was younger and had visions of conquering the world…I wanted/built a rifle/cartridge to hunt the four corners of the world.

Hunting the "four corners" didn't happen…..but, I'm too proud to change rifles/cartridges! memtb
