Thank you for the photos. Hornady has expanded a proprietary cartridge case manufacturing process that produces a stronger and more consistent product. Many major manufacturers are using a similar process. What this means for the shooter is harder case heads, more reloads per case, and more consistent internal volume. This method produces a cosmetic ring near the headstamp that does not affect headspace, function, or performance. Ha that's one hell on an excuse to cover up a huge mistake on their part and not have to do a recall. I bet we won't see the "ring" in future ammo. Somebody that has a rifle built with this ammo should load it to the max and see how many loads it'll take before primer pockets give out like hornady brass is famous for.
