Whats the cartridge you LOVE to HATE?

7-08

I can't even count the guys I have ran into at the range over the years that can't shoot, know absolutely nothing. But they read on the inter web that a Tikka 7-08 was the be all, end all to every big game animal and hunting situation in North America. As long as you have a Barnes bullet stuffed in the case.

You can use it to part ragging creeks and walk across on dry land, it defies the laws of gravity. In a tight spot it can be used as a weed pipe and makes an excellent high lifter Jack handle.

But all the above does not apply unless the driver of the rifle is dressed head to toe in Sitka gear and the rifle can only be transported in a Toyota TRD. There is also a minimum amount of selfies that must be taken per range session.
Only if it is a bull____ barrel 🤔.

7mm Rem Mag

I love to love the creedmoor out of hate 🤣. I don't even have one (and I won't- more of a .270 guy for that range of application)! But at this point the mob mentality groupthink in my circles is to hate in the 6.5 creed so just to go against the grain i'll recommend it haha. Anything that gets new shooters, especially young shooters, into our sport is friend not foe! Plus it's just fun making the hyper-masculine/insecure and loud types uncomfortable 🤣.

I don't hate any cartridge but I will say the 7mm rem mag always seemed like a wasted opportunity. A bit of a turd. Okay fine I'll say it

THE 7mm REM MAG IS A TURD!!!! 🤣

At least with how Remington handled it. Give it no freebore and a SAAMI kpsi limit notably weaker than the 270 or .300 win mag and voila! A belted magnum that barely outperforms the .270 Winchester while requiring a longer barrel, heavier rifle, burning more powder for more blast and recoil, and costing more money. And doesn't hold a candle to the .300 Winnie for a true all purpose North American hammer of a cartridge.

The original 7mm mashburn is a beast. And yhe 7mm weatherby is about perfect. Same capacity as the rem mag but appropriate psi allowed and the freebore lets it shine.
Shh, Bean is listening!

The 6.5 Creedmoor, because here in the UK we can't get half the ammunition & bullet choices you guys have in America.
Irritating because I've shot Muntjac, Roe, Fallow, Reds, Asian Elk & European Boar with it in lead bullets…but now we've got to change to copper & we have so few options it's pathetic!!

As in @ButterBean ? What does he care, he's more of a .25-06 ai, 270 win, .300 RUM, .22-06, and (against his will sorta) 6.5 creedmoor guy. He ain't gonna care that I'm stating the 7 rem mag is a TURD 🤣 in its factory loadings…is he?
Did he finally get

Did he finally get his man bun?

To all the Creedmoor/Needmoor haters... I get the aversion to the rabid disciples who overrate its parameters & snub their noses at the magnum boys. But I take an objective view - and that's this: When it comes to entry level deer cartridges, this one is such a sweetie to shoot and deer-capable that it really does help to promote the hunting tradition. Get a youth or any beginner behind one of these and they can get proficient pretty fast. There's a reason shooting schools use them... 🤠

My favorites from what I have is probably gonna be the 7 LRM and 7 AM. Still took 1 deer last year with the Creed though. Just a handy-dandy in the woods... I don't hate any cartridge, but have bad memories of a 300 Savage lever that scattered bullets like a shotgun. And a 243 Win that didn't punch a nice buck's shoulder years back.🙄
