Hi All,
I have a question and I hope you will provide great answers.
I will be going out of town on several property purchasing trips coming up this spring and summer for extended periods of time.
While I have a secure gun safe I am concerned about leaving my weapons at home during these longer trips.
Do any of you folks know of a commercial gun storage company, similar to a bank safe deposit situation for guns, in the Los Angeles area. I found one in Vegas and one in Phoenix but would like one closer to home in SoCal.
Thanks for feedback
Mike

You might want to look at Personal Storage Facilities that have good 24/7 onsite security. Rent a unit out and make sure that when you are putting your packaged firearms into the unit make it look like furniture/clothing/household items.

Get a larger/heavier safe and build walls around it.

Actually, all you need is a camera that you can monitor or that notifies you if it detects motion. The Police would be rather quick to respond if someone was attempting to get into your gun safe. Catching a thief is the best!

Before signing any agreement, be absolutely sure that the storage facility allows the storage of firearms. Most DO NOT, and in fact state it outright in their agreement. I don't care how you package it, if your unit is broken into and your firearms are stolen, your insurance and their insurance will NOT cover you.

Buy a great safe.
Bolt it into the wall(s) and especially the floor.
Build a small room around it using Type-X or 5/8" fire resistant drywall.
Be sure your house insurance covers your potential losses completely.

There are lots of solutions as opposed to storage units. Do a thorough search and you'll turn up lots of great ideas!
