300 WSM + RL26 load request

Just to let you know there's a 300 wsm page on facebook and a lot of load data as well. I'm waiting to get moved before I start reloading for my Mossberg 4x4 in 300 wsm. I've seen data for RL 26,RL 17 also but someone mentioned H335 as well.

IME RL25 works better in 300 Magnums. My 1st choice in 300 H&H which is the same as a WSM.

I use 68.7 - 69.3 grains with 200 ELD-X seated to .020" off the lands in Norma brass primed with a CCI250. My barrel is a 26" SAAMI chambered 300 WSM built on a Win 70 WSM action. .5 MOA or better, Velocity is ~3010 fps

Isn't case capacity only 68.5? Been trying to find a new load for my 300 wsm and have some 200 Berger hybrids and rl 26. Just haven't been able to find some start data

This was workup with RL26 and 205 elite hunters in a 300 wsm. 69.1 was getting spicy so I stopped there. This was in new ADG brass. Keep in mind RL26 does have some variance lot to lot, so your results could be different. As always start low and work up. I ended up settling at 66, it's been a very solid load with very tight ES.

What barrel length? I have a couple 20" WSMs I just spun up and have piles of 205 Elite Hunters and RL26.

I know right! I convinced many guys the same thing and I'm just trying to shoot all that powder up so I can find something that performs much better.

Been a couple years since this post started- ive done some testing since and i'm getting 2900 from a 24" with 215s and rl26- norma brass

My only concern with the short tube and RL26 is that I would get complete burn. I'm using it in a short 6.5PRC also, and had to back it down to get good SDs. Using a TBAC U7 on it also. If I was at 2800 I would be really happy with the 205s in the 20" WSM. I'll give it a go next couple weeks and report back.

My buddy has done a couple, in a 18" I think he got 2770 with 205's and in a 24" with .200 freebore he was getting 2950 with 208 eldm's.

I've ran the Berger 180 EH, Hammer 181s, 190 ABLR, 200 ELD-X, Berger 200.20x, and Berger 215s so far out of my WSM with RL26. Current pet load is 68grn RL26 with CCI 250s and Bertram brass. I get 2850fps out of an 26" barrel and it's held good out to 1160 yds. Not sure where pressure is with this brass. I initially worked up a load with Fed brass and it was super soft. Topped out at 69.8 grns (2944fps) with flat primer and EJ mark, still easy bolt lift.
I have a couple boxes of ADG still unopened. I need to switch and try that, sure I could hit 3000 with it.
