Hello Fellow LRH members,

I just picked up my 6.5 SAUM/GAP 4S rifle and need help with a starting load:

My Components are : ADG brass, GM215M, or GM210M, or CCI BR2, 156 Bergers, and H1000. I also have Retumbo, N568, and N570. But thinking H1000 is my best choice.

Thank you very much!

I ended with 60.5gr N570 with 156 Bergers and ADG cases.

Reduce to 58.5 and you should be able to work up from there.

Velocity was 2951 FPS from a 23inch barrel.

Says temp stable on the bottle, but I haven't tested it. Here in VA, not quite as important as our ranges just don't need much more than a muzzle loader 🤣

Call Berger tech support.

Are you near pokey? I haven't run anything heavier than 143 eld-x in my 6.5 SAUM, but the 143 can be a real tack driver. I'll follow along to see how this goes.

You should be fine with H1000 and 215s just remember that as your barrel breaks in it will likely speed up. I had mine up over 60 grains when I first started but had to back down about 2 grains as it broke in. Things settled down after about 150 rounds but the break in of barrel and brass are a good reason not to load up a lot in advance. Also 156s are not too easy to come by currently so unless you have a lot, you may want to consider using something else for break-in shooting.

Hope you like your 6.5 SAUM as much as I've enjoyed mine.
