I don't even think there comparable. Kifaru all the way. You will prob have to get lucky and find one in the classifieds on rokslide or some place to get it in time tho.
Help with pack for moose Kifaru vs Eberlestock or Kuiu?

Yeah, that's about my only option for Kifaru. Unless someone here wants to sell me a pack???? Anyone???

I'm going to take a guess. If your friends have lived and hunted in king salmon for a while, you won't be shooting at a bull unless your near or on the boat. You have no clue how big a mature bull moose is until you walk up to it…….usually, first thought in my mind is….this is gonna be a lot of work. I've passed up a lot of bulls that were in places I didn't want to work that hard for….even using horses (Didn't want to kill a horse). Packing a couple hundred yards….any of the packs listed will do fine.

I'll say Barney's packs by Frontier Gear are the best for packing heavy moose quarters. I have used KUIU, kifaru, and others. Nothing compares to a Barney's when a heavy(125-140 lbs) load is on your back. I guide in Alaska and this is my top pick after years of trying other brands

When would you be back I have a tactal and light frame. Both medium belts and a few bag options. Message me I would hate to see a guy go on a hunt like that un equipped. I have had badlands kifaru kuiu outdoorsman and initial acent. I only have kifaru now. I will say the initial agent is a close second but there is a difference in comfort too. This is with the kifaru pack.Yeah, that's about my only option for Kifaru. Unless someone here wants to sell me a pack???? Anyone???
There was a great two part review a guy did on YouTube comparing 5 top expedition packs. Exo, Kifaru and Stone Glacier were the top packs. I use a Stone Glacier 6900 Sky Talus and love it. From what I here the kuiu tends to flex a lot with weight. If you can find a place near you that have good packs for testing, that is the best thing you can do. Here is a link to the review.

I did this study a last year and came up with a few finalists for my needs.
1- stone glacier sky talus 6900
2- kifaru Dall with Duplex lite frame
and a cheaper alternative-
3- Eberlestock F1 with vapor 5000 bag, but bigger bag might be useful. A buddy bought the Eberlestock and is super satisfied.

Thanks for the offer. I'm back on the 17th.
I just ordered a Kuiu. Expedited delivery to see if it works for me. If I don't like how it fits, or I can't make it work for me, I may take you up on whatever you had in mind.
Like someone else said, "if they are local, they will shoot close to the water"
They are local and do this every year. None of us have any desire to kick our own butts hauling meat across boggy flats unless it's just an enormous Moose.
I'm generally pretty picky on trophy quality now. I have been extraordinarily lucky the past few years to shoot some absolutely incredible animals, but I'm just not too picky on the Moose.
Despite what my birth certificate says, I feel old. I'm looking for Moose close to the water.

KUIU pack and hiking sticks,
Comfortable light and versatile options. More importantly get the right size pack for your build and adjust it to you. More weight on hips is just a matter of proper adjustments. Also how you put the meat in your pack is important, especially if your not on flat ground or have a long haul. I also bring walking sticks it improves your balance, efficiency and from falling and injuring yourself. Well balanced pack is very important, not to much to low or to high. I guarantee the hog packing picture above is a young man with a short walk to the truck.

I've hunted and packed a lot of moose. As far as 2 miles. I would like nothing more than never to do that again.
That being said, I've used Eberlestock, kuiu, plain ol freighter frames, and Barneys.
The only bag I still have and use is the Barneys and i don't plan on switching. I have had plenty of times where the kuiu and the Eberlestock simply couldn't handle a hind quarter. I have yet to find a hind quarter the Barneys could not handle.
That being said, the best pack for moose is shooting close to camp and close to the boat.

All three pack brands you mentioned are good quality. Kuiu is top for me for its design but Kifaru may suit your needs better.
Eberlestock is for snipers who need to carry a rifle in a protected case.
**For ease of carry I recommend you look into KIFARU's "Gun Bearer" that attaches to your pack's strap and waist band. Easy diagonal rifle carry across your torso and THE fastest release and move into shouldering I have ever seen. A sling is nice but a Gun Bearer is best, by far.

I was going to let you borrow a setup if you can't come up with something. Opening weekend is 9-17 this year . Depending on what bag you would need that was my only concern.
