OTM vs. Elite Hunter

Anyone have real world experience using the OTM's on elk? Specifically the 300gr in .338 caliber. I don't see much about it on the forums since about 2013 and there has to be a lot of use of this bullet since then. Looks like they have a thicker jacket then the hybrids (which are well known to kill). I like the elite hunters but they are non-existent in 300gr right now. I do have the 300gr OTMs, just curious for first hand experience with results on elk/ game. I am going to be launching them out of a 338 Reaper hopefully between 2900 - 3000fps. If you have a experience with the 300 gr elite hunters or 300 OTM's let me know!

Not in .338 300gr, but I LOVE the 6.5mm 130 OTM and .308" 230 OTM on game. I can't see why a .338 300 would perform any different.

I have had outstanding results on Mule Deer and Antelope with the 300gr OTM. Shooting them out of my .338 Lapua. Last season, I was shooting them out of my 338/378 Weatherby, also with outstanding results. Shots anywhere from 100 to 700 yards. I've never had to take a second shot with the 300gr OTM.

Been shooting 300 grain OTM at 2950 from a 338 Norma imp. Killed deer bears and antelope all with golf ball size exit holes. Shots were from 300 to 850 yds. Still haven't shot an Elk with these yet but I certainly expect great results when the opportunity arrives

Heck yes they work just fine !

338 , Berger and 300 gr just flat work !

But I have only tested them on Bears , Bucks and my personal best on a Bull at 1244 yards !
Better get them loaded up and diled in for this Fall !

I think you need a heaver bullet. Not heavy enough for deer and antelope.
