Live - Salmon Trolling

I'm going tonight. Working on a cottage north of Point Betsie right on the water. Barely a ripple on the lake.
BTW if going to Frankfort, we caught 3 on inside edge of the Herring Hole, all on Warrior UV Mag Blue Dolphin. We worked the 90-95' edge. All 3 caught on south troll which prob due to current.

There is NO SUCH THING as a bad day fishing!!!
There can be. Had one. Fishing the World Championships for Bowfishing. Wife was 8mos pregnant with #2 at the time and stayed at the hotel. We had a winning strategy requiring quite a run up the Mississippi. Were supposed to meet a dock owner @4am for 100gals of gas to finish and for the run back. Never made it. We had a Shoal Runner Jet with a hopped up small block and a 24V trolling motor. We threw the driveshaft on the way up. No problem, The river was way above flood stage so we just took off cross country. found fish a couple miles from the river and wore them out. Took us forever to find the river again with just a trolling motor, but we did and were in good spirits thinking we had enough fish to win. Then came the barges 6 wide with a 10' wake, in the dark. Then the generator ran out of gas. Remember we missed out gas fill up? Trolling motor died and we were Huck Finning it on the Mississippi with only a paddle. We dumped all the fish @7am (weigh-in time). that lightened the load a ton and we were still 20 miles upstream. Soon my pregnant wife had the coast guard looking for us with search planes. We made it to a Coast Guard boat that was tied up to the bank around noon. Went on the boat asking for help and they all drew on us and said we were trespassing on Federal Property. It goes on but you get the point. You CAN have a bad day fishing. You have to work at it and throw in some bad luck, but it can happen. It really got bad when I finally got back and was not bleeding.

I Love Salmon, but, not as much as my wife she's a crazy Salmon addict, Kings in the Puget Sound at daybreak is where we'll be for most of the King run. The picture was by another fellow fisherman and friend, taken last year.

I probably should have added this sooner, my wife had this photo painted by an artist back East as a gift last Christmas 2021 which is now hanging in the living room of our home, I thought the artist did a great job, I really love the painting, great days Salmon fishing with her.

Wow! That sounded like a really fun day! You weren't shot, wife didn't go into labor, you didn't lose a limb!

You have one heck of a story and sure sounded like a great adventure on the water!

Would you rather have been sitting at a desk or recanting this story! When you step onto a boat or into the woods, the adventure begins! Some adventures are a little more adventurous than others😂😂😂😂😂

So was it really a bad day or one heck of an adventure that you will remember rest of your life?

WOWWW! That is a lifetime present! So cool!

When was this?
Wed afternoon. The storm blew us out of there. We have always had good luck working the edge but it seems you have to be spot on the edge and depth. We ran riggers 85' down so need to be really attentive to how the edge moves and move with it or it pops up to 65-75 FAST! Nothing else fired off. Interesting the Warrior was what they wanted!

That many Sockeye looks like heaven. That would take a lot of sweet onions and lemons.
Yes it would, those are on the deck from the last set of the period, there's another 10k lbs under the hatches already chilled to 35 degrees and we were headed to off load, had successive days where we were doing that much twice a day, largest run in Bristol Bay history.
