Darn
Just let out Cassie & Samson to go to the bathroom after their dinner. Cassie was going to the back of the property again "Winding" the air past the tractor. She would not come back so i went out and there were (6) that I could see Armadillos about the size of a Cantaloupe. Little bigger than babies. I ran back to the house grabbed our custom Volquartsen 17HMR. By the time I got back the little devils were into the brush with a lot of poison Ivey about 75 yds. GOT (3) HAAAAA!!! no pictures due to poison Ivey and no-see-ems biting me. The 20gr Hornady XTP blew them apart from what I saw looking through the scope. They don't move fast or run unless they have danger next to them. Have really bad eyesight. They dig up/under everything around here. My shrub beds are destroyed and digging under my front deck steps.
Will go out later with bug spray on me and trousers/shoes for some more.

Just shot a few Dillos earlier and got pumped up. Haven't been shooting or hunting in a while due to my neck. Decided to get some of my Coyote equipment out and make a set to see if I could get a Yote to come in for the dead dillos. Well it 88 and 80% humidity with no-see-ems everywhere. Was sweating my butt off before getting set up. Decided to just walk back to the house and have a beer. We have year round hunting here in GA but the summers are brutal.

I hear you! Hot and humid in Arkansas too.

These armadillos are easing their way from the wood line into the yard. I went into attack mode with the 22 pistol a few minutes ago. It got my blood pumping. Now I'm thinking about scouting.
