What's your thoughts? It seems after looking to upgrade my optics, that many are combining the two with Range finding Binos with ballistics and Bluetooth. Yet I still see some like having just quality binos and a Rangefinder with ballistic cape ability.

I do archery and rifle. I carry leica binos and a leica range finder during archery. Add on a g7 for rifle. There are times I would like to have geovids, but I'm not ready to give up g7

I like keeping them separate, because to me they are two different tools for two different purposes. Sometimes I want to have my rangefinder fixed or mounted for stability/precision when I want my binoculars free, or just carry my rangefinder, etc. If you combine the two, my recommendation is don't skimp, otherwise you are getting a Jack of all trades, master of nothing. Historically the more affordable options, you are typically giving up glass quality, and the higher end ones where you pay for the glass you seem to give up the ballistic computer performance. If you would spend $1k on a rangefinder and $1k on a set of binoculars, don't expect a $1200 rangefinder binocular to perform as well as they both did separately. I think their popularity over the last few years has improved the market so you are able to get a good combination of features/performance, but have a realistic idea of your budget and performance expectation going into it.

I'm definitely going to upgrade my optics. I just didn't know there were so many options!!!! I like the look of the Leica HD-B stuff but there have been some good deals on Swarovski too. I know I need some type of ballistic ability though. Decisions lol

I love swaro El but not their rangefinding binos. Leica all the way in the rangefinder department for many reasons over swaro

I dont have experience with newer Leica.com versions, but prior models don't range as far or when it's below zero nearly as well as g7 does.

I would like to see these newer .Com geovids and I would like to see the new revic from gunworks. That's probably the route I'll go (both) in the next year or so and sell the 3 pieces I have currently

I think I obsess over optics more than any other aspect of this hobby. It can be exciting but also frustrating.
You don't have the paten on that!!! Lol That's where I'm at now lol. I don't shoot steel at a 1000 yards. If they will give the rite moa to 700 I'd be happy. This is just for hunting for me. Got to do some studying on energy on my 6.5 Prc, but I think that will be about max with it.

Iv read that about the temp. Also taking several minutes to get to the ambient temp. That wouldn't be good in a rush. Hope fully someone with the . Coms can chime in on that.

Just was in the same position trying to decide. Ended up keeping them separate (Swaro 10x42 ELs and Revic br4). There's advantages and disadvantages to both but my thought was that range finding tech will continue to advance more so than glass quality of ELs I'm running now. I can upgrade rangefinders down the road for cheaper than a new set of binos. Not to mention if the electronics go out after warranty most we're 5 year from what I saw, you'll have to buy another pair or add a quality range finder. Just seemed to make sense to keep them separate investing in quality binos that will last however long you want to use them and not worry about electronics.

I like the rangefinder in the Binos. Last year I had my Leica HD-R 3000's in Kansas on a guided hunt. My guide and I watched a 170 class buck at 1600 yards for an hour or so setting up a plan for the next morning. We were glassing from the top of the truck with binos, rangefinders and spotting scopes. When dark came we pulled it all in and went to the lodge. The next AM we get up super early and start out on our mission. When daylight came, we could not find my Leica's. We emptied the truck and started backtracking. The Leica's stayed on the truck for 4 miles before they fell off as soon ad we hit the hard top. They had been run over a hundred times.

I immediately called Euro-optic to order another set and have them overnighted. Well- the new binos were the 3200.com and I hated them so much I ordered the new Swarovski. The new Swarovski smokes the 3200.com. I literally HATE the 3200.com and loved the HD-R

The HD-R 3000 doesn't have ballistics rite? If not did or were you going to use the rangefinder for your ballistics? Found a good price on the Leica 10x42 HD-R 2700 which will range as far as I'm going to shoot at game.

I went to the rangefinding binos to get more zoom when ranging longer distances, the Leica 2200 is the ones I went with. Haven't used the ballistics in it, have just been ranging and using the angle to punch into Strelok to get my dope.
