You think GAS is HIGH

Your right its not exactly his fault hes just the puppet. Its the that side of the party. Dude cant even put a sentence together but somehow he got more votes then the first black president. Seems fishy
You understand that he has a stutter, right? At least he can form complete sentences and does not have to invent words. I find that refreshing. As for him getting more votes, until you any anyone else on the planet can prove otherwise, he did.

Yes I've worked around windmills i stand by what i said i dont need to read on how a liberal says they work they simply do not. Solar yes. They have better options such as turbines in the ocean to work with the current but they wont. Damns work but they won't solves two problems with that one. There is a energy shortage no doubt. Millions more people here then ever has been more coming. As for clean anything china is last place too follow.

Fellas the post was about the price of deer feed, gas was just a reference, solar and wind generated power has nothing to do with the post. I appreciate your passion for your different points of view and applaud both of you for sticking to your guns but this pops up on my computer every five minutes and I am hoping somebody has something constructive to say about the price of deer feed or something to do with hunting deer. Its a long range hunting forum not a power generation forum.

Its been proved, media blocks it kinda like hunter bidens laptop. Lets say hes got a stutter ok thats fine. Whats that have anything to do with he cant put a sentence together on his own. When he goes rogue and doesn't go off the cheat sheet its blantly obvious but i guess a orange guy saying mean things is worse.

I've been retired for 7 years. Now with inflation what it is I've had to go back to work. IRA disappearing so fast that I don't think it will last as long as me.

It's hard to determine, we have no idea how long we will live. We don't get the hand outs that the illegal immigrants get, and know that at the rate our bodies are going down hill, we won't be able to work 10 years from now. Thought we were all set,but now we have to spend 3 years retirement every year to keep up with bills.
This is my fear.
My mother just retired after 35 Years of teaching special Education. My father still works and will probably work till he dies or health gives out but that's by choice. So many of the "old timers" I work with who said they were going to retire 2 years ago changed their plans during the PLANdemic and don't know when they are going to retire now. My little 401k has lost 35% in 20 months.

The cost to power your nag is going to cost a whole lot more for the foreseeable future it's sad but so.
All my cattle raisng buddies will be dumping their mother cows when they run out of the hay that they have in stockpile. We aren't able to grow hay this year in Texas due to the drought, a round bale of Bermuda is going for $120 right now.
My deer will be eating naturally produced acorns and grass for the foreseeable future, I have two big white oaks in my back yard in town and if they produce like they did year before last, I will take a couple tons of those to the lease for my bait. I will not pay $12.00 for a 50 pound sack of field corn.
Thats about as constructive as you going to get my friend, unless someone can share something that I don't know about!

I have read the previous few posts and there is a misconception in regards to refining and what oil gets refined and then where it goes. I am in that side of the business.
West Texas Intermediate (WTI) is a very light oil, in its natural state it looks like diesel, it is easy to refine, if you have the right process.
Heres the irony, due to increased demand and lower domestic production that began back in the late 60's and 70's the majority of the refineries that were built, and existing refineries that were modified were engineered to refine heavy sour crude that we had to import from Venezuela, West Africa and to some extent the Middle East to keep up with our domestic demand. There has not been a refinery built in the USA in that last 45 years 85% of the existing refineries will not efficiently refine WTI or the Bakken Crude. The Keystone pipeline was being built to transport the heavy crude ( Its actually bitumen not crude oil) form Canada for purpose only, to blend with the WTI to run it through the refineries that are designed to refine the heavy crude. There is Canadian crude being imported now through the existing Keystone pipeline system and couple of other pipeline systems and amounts to about 600,000 barrels a day the Keystone segment that FJB nixed would have added about 800,000 barrels a day. Did you know we export about 500,000 barrels a day of light sweet to Canada as most of their refineries are designed for Light Sweet Crude.
The reason we still import crude from overseas is to the blend with WTI as explained above and to take up the slack from not being able to refine our domestic production. Approximately 70% of the Light Sweet Crude we produce is exported due to the fact that we do not have the refining capacity to refine the Light Sweet Crude. The reason there have not been any new refineries built is due to federal air quality regulations, that have only gotten stricter every decades. In other words you can not get the permits to build a grass roots refinery. There is new technology that meets the air standards and we will see new refineries being built in the near future. A crude oil refinery is not a simple undertaking and takes 2 to 3 years to bring on line, they are huge.
Exxon/Mobil is modifying 2 of the largest refineries in the USA to refine the WTI crude and have invested over 6 Billion to do so, these refineries are in Baytown, TX and Beaumont, TX and should be complete late 2023. These 2 refineries will help but won't fix the issue.
Guess who owns the largest refinery in the USA, Aramco, yep thats right the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Motiva refinery in Beaumont, TX guess who's oil they refine ha ha.
The very last thing you want to happen is for the US Government to take over the oil and gas industry, that would end up as the biggest cluster that has ever existed, private industry is way way more efficient that Uncle Sam can even dream of. Just look how well they handled Health Care, the Covis BS, Social Security, and the real gem Afghanistan.
That's my 2 cents worth like it or don't but that is actually how it works kiddos.
See Jim.......these are facts!

This is why I've been saying "updates and upgrades" to our refineries. And I agree that the gooberment would mess up any kind of financial endeavor.

I still remember the smell of that honey oil wrenching rods.

Thank you for the insight!!

You really are dense. Quit bringing up the PLANdemic as a reason for gas prices being high. The reason gas prices are high is because production is low. Why is production low.......???? Because this administration said on TV that they were gonna end fossil fuels. It's also low because this administration has put an "executive ourder" on every aspect of the oil and gas industry. All done by potus. Also after Russia and OPEC had their little wrestling match and crude prices were extremely low. Oil companies stopped producing because it was cheaper to buy elsewhere.

I agree with some of the other members who said "open the books" and "not really a shortage when I can buy all I want if I have enough money".

When you flip off a light switch in your home, does the light bulb go dark because you cut off electric current running to the filament in the bulb? Or is it because of the PLANdemic?

And im far and away from suggesting any form of socialism in the USA when I brought up the "refinery of America" topic. If you would read the whole post instead of just the parts you want to and make comments based on some sort of fact instead of feelings......heck you would dang near be a moderate republican!

And no gas prices won't go down as soon as Joe goes back to the assisted living home. It will take a Republican a year to untangle what the Dems tore up in 4 years, then then a year to get us back on track then 2 years of being ahead. All while having to explain to people who live in lala land how 2+2=4.
I am the dense one? You are the one that keeps referring to it as the plandemic. The level of ignorance behind that statement is mind boggling. There was a study done that red counties that went 60% for Trump were 2.75 times more likely to die from covid than counties that went for Biden. The higher the percentage went up, the higher the likelihood increased. If this was some diabolical plot by the liberals, they were freakin evil geniuses. If it was, I would expect more to come and there would be no way that I would not be getting whatever vaccine they put out. The administration said they were going to try and end the use of fossil fuels in 50 years which is way faster than it can be done but they are politicians and have a tendency to over exaggerate. Obviously, the public does not have issue with that because they voted for him and its not unreasonable to think that the US could be carbon free within 100 years. More and more countries are doing it. China is the largest investor in renewables in the world but the universe revolves around you so that could not possibly affect oil companies investing. It has to be all Biden because it certainly could not be the writing on the wall. Also, everyone in the industry said they were recovering from the massive losses during the pandemic. If they are waiting until Biden is out of office to invest, they won't be able to bring down the prices before the next election and people will start blaming the republicans. The american public has no long term memory. There is nothing to untangle. The xl pipeline is dead and the republicans won't be able to bring it back to life. It wasn't going to make a difference anyhow other than to use up our refining capacity which in the current state of our refineries would have driven gas prices up. The only real thing they can do is get the refineries going again but many have been shut down and will never be brought back to life while others have been converted which means they will have to build new ones which take years so you can expect the blame to be transferred from Biden to whoever the next president is. Its inevitable.

I did read it and never disagreed with him. We actually agreed on several points. You were the one to suggest the government make the financial endeavor. You were the one saying that Biden should have invested money in it rather than somewhere else in an accusatory or blaming way. I am not sure but I think that makes you the dense one for even bringing this up. Sometimes its best to keep your mouth shut.

We have purchased the same pack of eggs from Wal Mart for years... for $2.74. Yesterday, the same pkg was $7.57!
And... I don't care what their maths says but gasoline going from $$1.99 a gallon to $4.19 a gallon is NOT an 11% jump!
Been saying this for months. They keep passing these increases off as 7,11,15% increases. BS, the gas is almost tripled. Beef has almost doubled and most other things have increased 50% easily. We're Waaaay past those increases today. Wish they'd stop babying the country with false reports. We all see and feel these big changes.

Our oil refineries are at 94% capacity. They can't refine the oil they are getting fast enough. What good would it do to try and get more to them faster?

What changed in 2020 to end the US being a net exporter? By the way, Biden was not president in 2020. I will give you a hint. In 2020 the US had the largest reduction in oil production in US history. Oil dropped to $11 a barrel and oil companies shut down wells and refineries.
I might be wrong, but I don't think became a net importer until after Biden took office.
