My 8 year old took his first animal this morning. It was cold and windy and my expectations were very low.
He was standing in the blind "dancing" to keep warm when he leaned over and asked "should we shoot that?" I turned to look behind me and this Tom had popped up into our blind spot. The little guy put a great shot on him and the "celebrating" began. I've never been so happy on a hunt in my life. Seeing his smile was something I'll never forget.

That is great! You can see he is enjoying it by that big ole smile on his face. Thanks for sharing.

Best part is he spotted it !

have yet to see a turkey in the area I hunt. It is like there are no birds anymore. This is very strange and I have noticed a decline in sightings the past couple of years
I'm in western Pa and noticed a decline the last couple years. I have seen birds around but not nearly the numbers of a few years ago. With high numbers of raccoons, possums and coyotes all looking for eggs and now the bird flu it ain't looking good.

Bird population is definitely going down! Biologist are telling us bird flu. It's totally wiped out the grouse in my part of the state .
