Your Thoughts on the Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25x56

I bought one when they first came out not expecting much. Had originally planned on putting it on a varmint build I was putting together but it wound up on my 7mm magnum. All I can say is I have been blown away by this scope. Locking turrets, clear glass, and my favorite vortex reticle have made for an excellent hunting scope. It is on the heavy side but for the features it has I'll live with it. I've hunted with it for two seasons now and taken three deer, two antelope, and several coyotes and even more prairie dogs. Farthest shot was a 950 yard antelope but I've shot steel out to a mile with it and it performed flawlessly. The glass could be better but for the money you can't go wrong.
Sorry for the long post but I can't say enough good things about this scope.

Hi All,

Just seeing if anyone owns and has used the Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25x56. I just picked one up in MRAD and will use it out to 1000yds later this year. Do you like it? I know it is out of China but with a lifetime warranty I figure you can't go wrong. My friend who builds custom rifles for long range use suggested it to me. I will have mine mounted shortly and when the weather warms up a bit will get to use it out to 200yrds at first. I will let you know how it goes. Through the FFL I use I got this for $600.

I have 5 or 6 of these scopes, all have ran flawlessly.

Have used in PRS matchs as well as hunting applications and Im very impressed on how well they track.
I have both MOA and Mil versions and haven't had any problems with either.

Good Luck.

Hello good people, just a short I can't say about that one scope but, I have that big old razor love it's large and heavy, but it is awsome hoping they do the same with a little less weight. But mine is on a bench and having fun when product is available. Thanks good people hope y'all have a great shooting year.

Got one in Canada for $699. Nice glass. Works great.

Have one that came on a RPR 300 win mag I bought. Have taken it to 760 yds dead on tracking.
Not nearly as nice a my Illum Leupold Mark 5HD 5x25x56 but it is 1/3 the price. Its a keeper for sure.

Cool! Also good to hear from another South Dakota boy. Wish I was still out on the western plains.

Put one on a rifle for a buddy. Was not impressed with the glass quality compared to the Viper line, but he is happy with it. You can probably find a higher end used scope for the same price.

I have both a Viper and a Strike Eagle new in box. Now you have me curious - I am going to have to get them both out and do a comparison for glass quality. Different objective diameters so it will be interesting to see how that plays into things.

on a bright day they might be comparable, but in low light or overcast conditions the Strike Eagle seemed dark and less defined.

Noted. I will check on that. Issue is my Viper is in MOA and my Strike Eagle is in MRAD. I like the MRAD so now I will have to make a choice about which one goes in which gun. Nice to have options though.

I really like the viper line but after having the strike eagle with the locking turrets there's no way I could ever live without it. I'll suffer the difference in glass quality for that. The new razor hd lht has the same locking turrets on it with a capped windage so I think that will be the next scope I buy
